The landscape was dramatic when we drove from san carlos. when we turned on a Scottish road, the landscape changed and dusty. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of retaurant would be out there. we came to the tiny fischerdorf of la manga, I did not see any restaurant yet! then we drove to a building that looked more like a seafood store, but was el mirador de la manga. all seats are open, but covered and overlooking the sea. we chose some typical Mexican appetizers that were quite delicious. I ordered the marlin tacos that were so fresh and tasty. my man chose all the pan meerrot red snapper. it was fantastic! They served a generous part that was crispy and perfectly fed. there were several hot sauces offered, with a selection of flavors. because they do not serve alcohol, the guests are allowed to take cooler. do not let them be fooled by the picturesque view of la manga. we enjoyed a delicious meal, in a refreshing environment, with great friends. it was a afternoon of great eating and fun! we will definitely return!
If you are a gringo, you might be intimidated by the dogs in the walkway or the appearance of the place but don't hesitate to eat there. The fish is fresh and probably the best in san carlos. My 13 year old son and I...eat there often when we are in town and we both love it. It can get crowded on weekends. It is worth the trip down the dusty road to get there. Quite an experience if you are a gringo visiting and want to see real mexican food.
We went here for lunch. The view and service is great. We all had a molcajete big, steaming volcanic bowl filled with all kinds of seafood.
