Stop at Skippers in Henderson on the way to Raleigh. I would read the positive reviews and wait to check it. First: Although the BBQ was a bit too vinegary for my taste, the fried chicken, free Hush puppies, and Mac and cheese were amazing. Chickens and Hush puppies were fried to perfection and not fat. Restaurant was clean and COVID suitable. The owner was super nice...a 4 generation business. If you're worth a stop in the area.

The first time really try hush puppies and WOW they are sooo delicious here! Chewed catfish and okra was amazing!

Had the bbq plate. Delicious. Had a friend with us. He said it was great. Great server. Will return.
