Restaurant bewertenWe, a few, came to eat. the restaurant was a suggestion, from another chef working in another restaurant in helsinki before. we were greeted by door/Kloak man. the waiter was very professional. super polite, drinking suggestions were very good. we had 3 dishes: hering teller for actie, pfefferstämme for lady, and I had rent. eating was very good! Reindeer-Truppe, I would say, was extraordinary. I have read some comments about food quality that it is not worth. I'd say it wasn't our case. it is not the cheapest place, but quality was really good. if they learn about traditional foods, they would know that it was quite easy to berries local, sweet meat. and to pay a few euro to steal man was not a problem as at any other place where you would tip the guy. we were very happy with our dinner!
The stuff is incredibly friendly, approachable and nice, the food was amazing, I had the reindeer filet and it was so tender and jucy, and the mashed potatos also gorgeous and the size of the portion is also very good. Don't let the look of the place fool you it might seem a bit dull but I would definitely recommend it for the food and service. I feel sorry for not tipping more.
This restaurant was recommended by our hotel who made the booking for us. Booking was for 4pm as restaurants have to close at 6pm right now in Austria, there are also very few tourists around so place was practically empty. Staff were very friendly and efficient, beer was excellent, we tried the pale Ale and IPA. For starters we both had the salmon soup which came accompanied by some warm rye bread and butter. It was delicious, with large chunks of salmon. I then had the meatballs with mash and beetroot, but I was so full from the soup I gave most of my meatballs to hubby who had the fried ham hash. Mains were OK, but the star of the show was definitely the soup. We had no room for dessert.
Excellent food and service! We came on a farewell work dinner and really enjoyed the service as well as the starters and mains. This restaurant has a lot of options to choose from. It is also not very crowded which makes it easy to enjoy a quite dinner. Our Finnish friends said that the food is quite authentic and nice. I highly recommend this place!
Fantastic fried muikku with beets and mashed potatoes! I came all the way from Prescott, Arizona to eat lunch and muikku!
