Restaurant bewertenBeautiful chicken shish , cheesy chips , beautiful Turkish bread , chilli sauce and garlic sauce as well beautiful
Although they do great food I was not pleased on last two visits. My daughter likes her meat in one container and her rice in another or she won’t eat it.However when asked if they cater for food allergies they said yes but would not separate her food saying it would use an extra container. So on our next visit I took my own container but they still would not do it.Their reason is if they let me they will have to do it for everyone.I asked what the big deal was but they just said no. Will obviously not be going there again
Recently, while at my mother's house, we decided to order a takeaway meal. We didn't want fast food and instead wanted something we could enjoy together in my mum's beautiful garden. My friend and I walked around the corner to a Turkish restaurant called Kervan Saray. We had eaten there before, but it had been a few years since my last visit just before I moved to the USA in 2017. The food was delicious and the service was attentive on our previous visit. The restaurant has a typical Turkish decor with an open kitchen, which was visible from the waiting area where we collected our takeaway. We didn't pre-order, so we watched our food being cooked. The staff followed strict hygiene practices, wearing gloves and hairnets and using separate areas and equipment for meat and vegetables. Our food was prepared in a reasonable amount of time and the prices were fair. We ordered a cold meze with pita bread, salad, and various dips like hummus and tarama, as well as a mixed grill with rice. We laid everything out on the garden table and enjoyed our meal surrounded by good company and the colorful flowers in my mother's garden. Personally, I loved the tarama and pita bread the most, followed by the lamb. However, tarama is a weakness of mine, so I may be biased. Everyone else at the table enjoyed the meal as well, except for my son who is a picky eater and only tried the rice and chicken. Overall, five of us had a great meal at a good price and had plenty of leftovers for a sixth person who arrived afterward.
Me, my partner and my 1 year old went here yesterday for dinner. We got there around 7.15pm and when looking from the outside you would not expect to find what is inside. The outside does not look so appealing and it looks pretty small so when we walked in we was pleased it was nice and open. Seating was not too bad and there was enough space between everyone (Covid regs) . We was seated quickily but not asked to sanitise our hands even though you would think in a restaurant they would ask you to do so (we did anyway). Once seated we was given a menu but it was not sanitised before handing it over to us. They came and took our order but we had to ask them for a drinks list which is not on the main menu. we was waiting a while before some bread and dips were put on the table. The starters came fairly quick and half way through our starters we got our drinks and even though one was wrong they fixed it without issue but that's when for me it went down hill in my opinion. Once we had finished we waited 20 mins before our mains came out. Not once did they come and ask if everything was okay.. we had to call them over every time we needed something and even then that was a hard task in itself as they just rush past you and avoid looking at you just in case you ask them when they are doing something else. I tried to ask for another plate but i did not even get a staff looking my way for me to ask. The portions are a really good size and the quality of the food itself is great, I honestly could not fault that, but the Adana was to salty. The chicken is lovely! Come to the end of the meal and I had asked for some containers to take the rest of our food home and a bag and the bill, they passed the containers over but i needed another but they had already gone by then. The main guy (manager i think/owner) bought our bill over and walked off at the same time. After 10 mins of waiting for someone i ended up raising my voice for someone to take my payment and asked for another container, she walked off grabbed a container walked over to the card machine but saw food needed to be taken out so made us wait longer, the table beside me was also waiting. As she puts the food on another table she rushes away and say excuse me can we pay now, she replies yes yes i know i am coming dear, she was not aggressive but it was not nicely said knowing we had been waiting anyway which i thought was pretty rude. she brings over the other container and a bag and eventually we leave. The food was good, it just the service was a bit hectic, even though it was not busy the waitress we was dealing with was running around like a headless chicken when if she just slowed down she may be able to breathe and actually see whats going on around her.
Been coming here for years. Was always a busy place with a great atmosphere. Hands down was the best with friendly staff too. The last visit I was shocked that on a Friday night it was pretty much empty, the waiters were different. And the vibe we usually get wasn’t there. The food was still so good, we always get the platter and it was so fresh. On a birthday the whole restaurant would sing and join in. Yesterday we was told they don’t do birthdays anymore. Which in my opinion was what we associated the place with. The previous waiters and waitresses were much more friendly and welcoming.
