Joseph's Trattoria Downtown - Haverhill

Always good, never disappoints. We have been visiting for over 20 years- Great family owned restaurant and the wood fire grill makes the difference. From the bread and olive service to a great drink list, pasta, salads, and apps. So many good things to try. The Caesar salad with grilled salmon is a favorite. And the takeout and bakery items are excellent. And of course great staff we have always had great service and attention to detail. 

Joseph's is our go to spot for Italian in the Merrimac Valley. Food is consistently very good. We really enjoy all the Service team. We usually split a salad and pasta dish with a couple glasses if Chianti for a great affordable evening out.

All the food was great. Chicken and veal saltimbocca with mushroom raviolis a favorite that's always delicious. Perfect Caesar salad. Good selection of Italian wines. The Arrabiatta pasta with shrimp added was Perfection! The shrimp were plump and cooked perfectly; the sauce was so fresh and flavorful with just right touch of heat. Might be the best I've ever had.

I have been eating at Joseph's for years, first at the Bradford location, and now at the downtown spot. The food and drink are always spot on: birdbath sized martinis, perfectly cooked pasts dishes, and creative specials that change weekly and always make me second guess my regular favorites. My wife loves the bolognese, and the rigatoni con salsiccia e broccolini and lobster ravioli keep me coming back. We are so happy to hear that they are rebuilding the Bradford location (scheduled 2026 opening? too, and will continue to be a top quality restaurant in the Haverhill area.

Outstanding service. I think her name was Marcella. Food was excellent.
