I have never been to an African restaurant before. Decided to stop in for dinner while in town for business. I was able to try a delicious drink called deque. It was a unique dairy based beverage with millet. I got beef with peanut sauce with rice and my coworkers got several different dishes. My dish was ok. Not as much peanut flavor as I had hoped. The dishes were served with a very spicy hot sauce. The chicken and plaintain dish with peppers and onions looked amazing. So did the whole fried fish with plantains. This was a fun place to try. I did wish I got a different dish with plantains. I did notice how dirty the floor was in the establishment. It was a bit of a turnoff. Otherwise it was a fun dinner out that felt like N exotic trip to another place.
Good took 40 minutes to make after being told 20 minutes! Then there was hair in the fufu order!!! Will not be supporting this establishment again!!! Okra Stew with Fufu
Pros: 1. The food was edible. 2. Location of the restaurant is between the city and county area. 3. Portion size. 4. Price was perfect. Cons. 1. This was a take out order the food was warm. It was not hot which is not good during a pandemic. 2. The store did not require their customer to be in the store without a mask. 3.The flavor of the food was like bla... I've made better curry goat. Totally not enough spice. When you serve curry food it has to be covered in curry sauce so the meat does not dry out. The meat was kinda dry because there not enough moisture to stop it from drying out. 4. CHEAP containers. Your food is served in cheap plastic containers. After your first year i can see you using these types of containers but after a year you should be in better food containers. Your rice and sides should be in one container and your meats and gravy in another. Their is nothing like pulling your food out of a greasy bag. Worse what little gravy that was there ran into the rice and was absorbed. 5. Bones in the dish... certain food like ox tail are a treat to eat with the bone CURRY DISHES their is not excuse for their being bones in the dish. After you cook the meat down (or remove the bone from the start) it just pulls right off the bone. You can then remove the fat and gristle so your customers are not eating that. The restaurant is average how its gotten all these 5 stars I do not know. This is NOT a five star restaurant but a solid 3. The store needs to revamp its curry goat recipe to be more flavorful. this is how i make mine youtube.com/watch?v=dOao… ... this is restaurant quality. My dish is heavy on the drippings. To achieve this type of quality my suggestion is to cut the portion size down. Serve in pre-sized bowls one for the meat one for the rice and sides.
