Restaurant bewertenBest meal I’ve ever had in Ballarat. The ‘Ballarat mushrooms’ dish was absolutely sensational and delightful. Every mouthful made me want more! The service was top notch with very friendly staff.
Beautiful cafe MADE, featuring local produce. Loved their 'Mushroom ' baked with goat 's cheese with spinach macadamia nut pesto, yum! Menu is quite limited though. A nice social/resting place before/after MADE.
The menu is fantastic, local ingredients and recipes makes it a unique experience. Place is really nice on its decoration. Service needs a bit of improvement.
Had the smoked eggplant tomato soup with native spinach pesto. Sooo yummy. The ingredients had been smoked in a wok using local bark for two hours. I couldn't get enough of it. Served with huge chunks of wonderful toasted bread. Lovely waiting staff. Finished with a perfect pot of tea. Delightful light and bright setting too. Will make a beeline for Saltbush next time I'm in Ballarat!
In one word: Wattleseedy. On a warm sunny day, what more would you want from a cafe with a lush green lawn and beanbags? I gladly indulged in an iced coffee and vanilla slice! The portion size was generous and the addition of thickened cream with wattleseed laced through was another tasty luxury. The slice itself; a heavy layer of lightly vanilla tasting creamy custard with pastry that looked crispy, but in truth was headed a bit soggy. Overall, pretty tasty but perhaps not uber-fresh.Worth noting too that these are not baked on site.
