B J Seafood - Hammond

I asked a customer where the locals eat and this was the first place he mentioned. Had a pound of crawfish for the appetizer and tried the trio platter which came with oysters, shrimp, and fish plus hush puppies, two sides (I had onion rings and potato salad) I will definitely go again when in the area!!

Some of the best seafood in Hammond other than Michael's seafood and they also have a restaurant that has the best sandwiches in the state hands down. Each sandwich they put a lot of love in it because it is so delicious and you can tell that they took time and prepared the meal right so that once you get that experience of eating at BJ's just you're hooked. I'm obsessed with the fact that I must try everything on that menu that I eat myself I don't eat oysters so that would be one thing that I won't try but everything else that they have on that menu I will try sooner or later they also have fresh seafood in whale catfish and other types of seafood like fresh shrimps family have a variety of seafood in the freezer but it's a place that you really would want to try if you haven't Hammond Louisiana I promise you won't be disappointed. Fried seafood platter was delicious! Oyster size was big. The grilled shrimp salad was big and full of shrimp.

If you're in search of fresh shrimp, I wouldn't recommend this place. I recently moved to the area from the river parishes and ended up paying $15 for a pound and a half of medium-sized unpeeled shrimp. As for boiled crab, you can get a dozen for $24 at Miller's Mart, and they even throw in a half dozen for free. I suggest sticking to the vendors on the roadside. I bought from here in a hurry, but it’s definitely not the go-to spot for fresh shrimp. It’s overpriced compared to getting it from the shrimp man or even Rouses. Just a little tip to help you save money. God bless!
