Restaurant bewertenRegular visitor food is fresh and great tasting I grew up in Toronto have been to many great Asian restaurants This place is the best within 100 km radius
After growing up in downtown Toronto before moving to Gravenhurst, I'd frequent China Town quite often in Toronto and I love good Chinese Food. I've tried this place once and it was awful and I would never go back. Rickshaw down the street is better but not by much. If you are driving up Hwy 11 see the sign for Gravenhurst and are craving Chinese food....just keep on driving and don't look back
Food: very tasty (best hot an sour soup I had for a very long time , good quantity Service: quick, friendly Ambience: nice, lots of decoration from several occasions (Asia, Christmas, local... Food gets 5 stars, ambience 3 stars.
Quite frankly, the food here is awful. Greasy and bland the fish dishes also taste and smell fishy. Quite simply, this place is revolting and I won't be back. Try the Rickshaw restaurant just down the street. Their food is much better.
We don't have a lot of sit down Chinese restaurants in our city that aren't buffet. We decided to try China House on Saturday night of the Family Day long weekend. We were highly amused by the dining room and décor. It seems they have never met a knick knack they didn't like, or keep. Kitsch aside, we were very impressed by the food and service. Some people here have complained that the service was slow but I don't think they realize that behind every dish is the Chinese owner/chef who cooks to order, from scratch. We had the best won ton soup of our lives, and the combo plates were delicious. At the end of the meal, we felt that we had eaten Chinese made from scratch, at a friend's house rather than traditional Chinese take out or buffet. Not salty, not greasy, no gloopy cornstarch sauces. Fresh and delicious. Crisp veggies. We will definitely stop in again during our next trip to Gravenhurst.
