Restaurant bewertenSays nowhere where I could say, but in the store that food only goes out and serves raw for you to take home and cook. They say there are cooking instructions, but this comes down to 'boil in the broth, don't eat raw meat. ' No surprise, it turned out that nothing looks like the photos or what I had before.
This place has some of the freshest foods with the most authentic flavors. While I haven?t actually had their pho, I?ve tried the bahn mi and the spring rolls. Both are some of my favorite things to get from the whole market! Prices are very fair and their staff is very friendly. Wait times can be a little longer, but that?s because all of their food is assembled right in front of you. Great place to stop for a meal!
Unique among the pho available through the rest of the city, the broth of their signature pho is exceptionally herb forward. Chicken pho and Bahn Mi out out a simple, but excellent menu.
I 'd heard good things about this restaurant and have been wanting to give it a shot. There were only 5 items on the menu, usually a good sign for a restaurant as you can specialize in those 5 things and do them well. Ironically however when ordering the beef pho, I was told they were out of rice noodles and would take 30 minutes to prepare more. If your main focus is noodle soup and you aren 't prepared with noodles, not a great start. I offered to wait for the noodles. I also ordered spring rolls only to find out they were out as well. Strike two. After paying for my order to-go (they accept debit) I was asked if I would prefer to take an already prepared chicken order, have the chicken removed and replaced with beef. I thought it an odd request but the appeal of not having to wait an additional 30 minutes swayed me to say yes. I was then provided with pho in a take out container made of what appeared to be water proof biodegradable cardboard. The entire order was placed in a plastic bag. By the time we got our order home, the container had predictably warped (see photos below) and the bag contained some of my soup. It seemed like a poor design for a takeout container. Upon finally earing my pho, I found the soup to be a 3-star bowl of pho. Nothing extraordinary, but certainly not bad by any means. Overall, I 'd rate my takeout experience to be two stars, while I predict a dine-in experience for me to be a 3-star. The restaurant was clean, the staff apologetic but not overly welcoming. All around just a very middle of road experience falling short of the hype. As a previous reviewer stated, there are far better pho places in Southern Grand Rapids for far cheaper that are well worth the added drive time.
I love Pho soup, but that was a complete disappointment!! I ordered the beef pho, but no beef I just wanted the broth. The broth was sweet! Looks like they have a ton of sugar in It! I never had Pho that tasted sweet. It destroyed my costs. Cold, rainy day I wanted a traditional Pho!
