Restaurant bewerten"My favorite sushi restaurant near Grand Rapids! Meal Type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 I highly recommend the Specialty Rolls and Pot Stickers!"
I recently dined at Ju Sushi with a large group for a birthday celebration, and my experience was unfortunately overshadowed by extremely long wait times and subpar service. While the restaurant has some positive aspects, I feel it’s important to share my disappointing experience. Let's begin with the positive notes. The sushi at Ju Sushi was satisfactory, though not exceptional. The flavors were decent, but nothing truly special that would draw me back solely for the sushi. The ambiance and decor, however, were quite lovely. The restaurant boasted a charming atmosphere with tasteful decor that created a welcoming environment. Sadly, the negatives far outweighed these positives. We had made a reservation in advance for a party of more than six, scheduled for 6:30 PM, but we ended up waiting over two hours for our food. Despite our inquiries about the delay, our waitress offered little information, simply stating they were working on it. The lack of communication and updates only added to our frustration and confusion. To make matters worse, the restaurant was only half-full, which made the long wait even more baffling. It wasn’t until we caught the bartender’s attention that we finally received an explanation. When the food finally arrived, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience we had experienced. The entire dining experience stretched to an absurd three hours, highlighting Ju Sushi’s significant deficiencies in service and hospitality. I cannot recommend dining here, particularly for large groups. The poor service overshadowed any positives the restaurant had to offer, leaving us with a bitter impression and diminishing the joy of our celebration.
Service: Dine-in Meal Type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food Quality: 5/5 Service Quality: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Recommended Dish: Playboy Roll
Expensive, but worth it if you enjoy sushi. Best I've had around Grand Rapids. The rice they use is prepared properly and their fish quality never disappoints, even on their cheapest rolls.
Ju is one of our favorite spots to visit. The wine selection is delicious. Our go to rolls are the Playboy and the Volcano Roll. The Miso soup is always hearty and flavorful. Service is relatively quick, but the waits don't seem too long because the mood is always pleasant. Stop by only once. I guarantee that like Lays, just once will be impossible.
