Restaurant bewertenOn Thursday we visited the restaurant le marquis. the environment was very traditional, with beautiful tables and we were greeted with a warm welcome. the menu was a three-course menu with a lot of choice, fish cake with a chili sauce,...fill steak with rusti potatoes, wintervene and a mushroom sauce, all very tasty and very well executed. I ended up with a cheese pie that was really nice. we all choose different, venison, wearer of lamb, followed by apfelstrudel and hot chocolate pudding. the service was excellent, we would definitely recommend and look forward to our next visit thanks le marquis
My mother stays with us at the moment to celebrate her 90th birthday. After eating most of the Michelin star restaurants in the algarve, we wanted to try somewhere new and read the positive reviews of le marquis, which we thought we were. try. first impressions as we went up where a beautiful old village with St. lukes church (a round building that was formerly a chalk mill) next to le marquis. the restaurant itself was rebuilt by a house over 100 years old and has a wonderful outdoor terrace. the atmosphere immediately calmed us and we were ready to relax and enjoy the food. Stand-out articles were the scallops in lobster sauce for starter and oven-baked cadry for pornstar, but all the dishes we had were delicious. we were entertained by the very kind Dutch lady who owns the restaurant with her man and has since lived in the algarve before becoming a tourist hotspot. service was friendly from a waiter out of kap verde, but he had to refer to some of the questions we have asked to the owner. a small point, but in this class of restaurants the servier staff should be fully informed about all the aspekte of eating and wine. the menu in le marquis is short, so this should not be too difficult. In summary, we had a wonderful meal and gave my mother some memories that she will take home to her 90th birthday. we will definitely come back!
Everything about le marquis is excellent. eating is exceptional, location magical, marco was charming in service and helma is a wonderful host. helmas husband is the cook and unfortunately we did not ask his name, but his kitchen is one of the best I have experienced. we were a family of three and each court was brilliant. I think I won the food jealous award with the reserve ribs main course. we are regular visitors to the algarve and will be visited here frequently. many thanks to helma and team. we hope to see them soon.
This was my first time in this restaurant. The meal and its presentation was amazing in everyway. There is no simpler way to describe it. The service and the staff were at the same standard also. I will certainly go back very soon.
