Restaurant bewertenAte there around 10 October.Ordered Bbq sandwiches about 8 of them plus couple dozen cold hush puppies and one large tea about $100 with a tip don't remember exactly. The sandwiches were great just alot smaller and cost twice as much as they used too .I can't afford thier bbq .My first trip since it was shut down. Not impressed.Get rid of the tent and open the doors or sell it to someone who will.
Hopefully they open back up soon with the same old fashioned bbq they use to have
This place is near and dear to my heart because years ago, my uncle used to work there as one of the guys who helped cook the pigs. He used to bring us that mouth watering barbecue and you could smell it long before he even got close to you with it. Anyway, as time went on, my family and I always went to Wilbers to get our bbq because at the time, there was no other place around the area that was better. Not only was the bbq delicious, everything they had was also, especially their hushpuppies. I loved them when they were hot, you could almost make a meal off of just them! But at some point, not long ago, their bbq started tasting different. Sometimes I would get some and it would either be not chopped up properly, way too much pepper, which made it too hot for me to eat, or it would have a lot of burnt pork meat mixed in with the bbq meat that wasn't burnt. And that would give all the bbq that burnt taste. When I first had this issue, I just blew it off as maybe I just got a bad batch of bbq, but then I had this to happen almost everytime after that when I would get bbq from there. I don't know if they changed cooks, or the ones they had cooking the pigs hadn't been trained properly on how to make decent chopped bbq. This is a travesty, especially as long as Wilbers has been in business serving the best bbq around this area. I had started going to Parker's in Greenville or Wilson to get my bbq because theirs taste like what Wilbers used to. I really and truly hope you guys pay attention to this review because believe me, I'm not the only one who has noticed how much the quality of your food has gone down, and that your prices have skyrocketed! Most people probably wouldn't mind paying more for their food if it was going to be worth the cost. But yours, I'm disappointed to say, is not anymore. Please consider improving the quality of your bbq back to the way it used to be. I would hate to see your business end up failing over something that could have been easily corrected.
This used to be the best BBQ PLACE around....until something happened ??? Not sure the circumstances . All that I know for sure is.... this place has went to Hell in a hand basket
