Restaurant bewertenI believe this restaurant offers excellent German cuisine and the smells from the kitchen were heavenly. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we discovered that most dishes are prepared with lard or contain pork. Regrettably, we do not consume pork or any by-products of pork. We were disappointed as we were eager to sample the food. The restaurant is clean, the waitstaff is friendly, and they offer a truly authentic German menu. I rated it a 4 for ambiance, cleanliness, service, and authentic German dishes.
We had a fantastic lunch at Schnitzel Platz during Oktoberfest season. The draft beer selection was excellent and the potato pancakes were delicious. We also tried a large pretzel with beer cheese, which was very tasty. The German salad paired well with the bratwurst sandwich. Overall, it was a truly authentic German dining experience that transported us back to Germany.
The restaurant has a lively atmosphere and offers fantastic German cuisine. I visited with a friend and, although I wasn't very hungry, I ordered a side of potato salad and sauerkraut balls as an appetizer. The potato salad was the best I've ever had, surpassing another popular German restaurant in downtown San Antonio. It had the perfect balance of flavors and was served warm, making it truly exceptional. The sauerkraut balls were enjoyable as well, consisting of a breaded mixture of sauerkraut, spicy ham, and sausage that was deep-fried. They were accompanied by a delicious sweet mustard sauce, reminiscent of a honey mustard dip. While the prices may be on the higher end, the fantastic ambiance and delectable food make it a worthwhile dining experience.
This hidden gem in an unlikely location is a delightful find. The restaurant's interior is adorned with various authentic German decorations and numerous intriguing clocks that are enjoyable to admire. The cuisine was exceptional, and the servers were supportive in assisting us with our choices. The dishes were incredibly fresh and delicious, making this a must-visit for fans of German cuisine. We opted for a few larger platters with a variety of items to sample, allowing us to try a wide range of dishes.
The food at this restaurant is excellent, but it is on the pricier side. The service was a bit slow, even though our party was the only one in the dining room for at least 45 minutes. We arrived early to avoid any dinner rush. The atmosphere is lively, with great music and decor.
