Restaurant bewertenA large group of us were here for the first time recently for the breakfast buffet. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we were there so we appreciated that we kind of had our own section to ourselves. While the restaurant is very dated it was clean, as were the washrooms. Our server was young and friendly but was terrible at checking in on us to see whether we needed anything. The breakfast buffet was just ok. We found it incredibly odd that we were unable to serve ourselves any of the hot food and instead had to wait for the servers to come and serve us. Waiting was awkward and it just seemed very unnecessary. It is an all you can eat buffet so customers should be able to serve themselves. The selection included basic breakfast items like french toast, sausage, scrambled eggs and bacon. I don't eat pork so there was not a ton of variety for me. There were random foods offered as well like spring rolls, cabbage rolls, and some mystery dish with bread and Lord knows what else that was a soggy mess. Overall, the hot food was okay. Nothing spectacular. The cold salad bar was good. The dessert bar was pretty basic; jello, pudding and vanilla cake. I ordered a coffee and not once did I get a refill. There were also pitchers of water on the table and those weren't refilled either. The bill was paid while many people were still eating but after the waitress got the money we never saw her again. People were wanting refills and to have plates cleared but she had disappeared. Very disappointing. Won't be back.
Restaurant run by great people who support local sports. Food is good. Service is good. Great buffet with lots of fresh, hot choice.
I went to this restaurant for the Sunday breakfast buffet and over 30 choices of items were available both from buffet tables or you can order ala carte
The restaurant is clean and presents itself as a well maintained small community restaurant and appears good for the back roads traveller. My wife and I ordered our meal and the table server was friendly and enthusiastic about her function. Our meal arrived as ordered and in a very timely manner, not slow and not rushed. We proceeded with our meal of liver and onions which we both enjoy, only to find the liver very dry and the corn as a vegetable was completely not palatable, like it had been reheated for days on end. We will not be stopping here in the future.
My husband and I went here tonight for our anniversary, we had eaten there a few weeks before and had the buffett, it was quite good, although we had to hunt down the owner to serve us as we were not allowed to help ourselves, tonight the buffett was not available so we could only order from the menu. My husband had the special, veal cuttlet fries and vegetables, it came with soup which was not hot. I ordered the 6oz steak with mushrooms, fries and vegetables. Both came with carrots and a few pieces of corn.......the carrots had a plastic taste as if they were put in a container hot. My steak was advertised with mushrooms, the waitress came and asked if i wanted mushrooms on it? The steak was 1/4 inch thick no way was it 6oz, tough and greasy, probably cooked on a flat top. I watched the girl clean and mop the floors, go into the bathroom and presumingly wash the floor in there also with the same mop, she did not wash her hands upon returning to the dining room and then proceeded to empy the garbage behind the bar and on the utility cart again without washing her hands, the bell rang for our food and I could see her standing to pick it up in the kitchen, she brought our plates, thus after handling the garbage...........We were not asked if we would like something to drink nor were we offered any coffee. I understand we went their 45 minutes before closing but the food and service was not acceptable. I was very disapointed, it ruined the evening.
