Restaurant bewertenAtmosphere: Nice restaurant. Large room for events. Staff and services: My server was knowledgeable and has a funny personality. Food and beverages came at a reasonable pace. Food and beverages: The food was average, but overall good. I really wish there was a drink menu. There's not much to do. Price: Great prices for large groups. Recommendations: The DESPERATELY menu must be replaced. It is dirty looking and very unhygienic. A beverage menu would also benefit customers well.
I can give the restaurant no less than 5 stars. After about 20 years I returned to Guyana to find out that there was a new location where the food was apparently better than its current sister restaurant. I ate both and found that true! I was shocked that after almost two decades quality and familiarity was not lost. I got the steamed garlic shrimps and fried rice- everyone was good, especially the shrimps that were simply cooked but very tasty. The pepper sauce still remains the star of the show for me. My husband got the deep fried chicken and that was also very good. I will definitely return home. The only thing I would change is part of the decoration that ends look like a great break from different elements of the design.
This location is close to Ramada Hotel and Shopping Mall. It is a very impressive, spacious restaurant. There are only inner seats of the others in the main road also has a large balcony. The seats are very comfortable and you can choose to sit at a table with rotating top. This rotating table top is a good choice if you want to share the dishes, you can turn the tip and access the dishes. Quality and quantity are consistent. The service is very good and a bit faster that the other restaurant on the main road. There is no entrance for the disabled and no elevator. The price quality ratio is good
The restaurant itself is beautiful. The staff was very friendly. My only complaint is that they don't serve cocktails. Who has a bar and does not serve cocktails? They only offer wine, beer and Shandy, which is quite limited
I seldom leave reviews, only under the most critical situations and my experience here was so horrible it absolutely fits the bill for several reasons. Let’s start of with the customer service. We came for lunch and we’re guided upstairs to the main restaurant. We sat and waited for almost 30 minutes before we finally got up and found a waiter to help us. By this point we were drenched in sweat because there was no air conditioning, now usually that wouldn’t be a big deal but this was chalked up as a premier restaurant. After we brought up how hot it was a manager came down and said that they had another floor with air conditioning but it would cost us $75 to sit there. I found that absolutely absurd and he said ok he would let us up for $50. A few red flags for me, first off if it appeared that he was just trying to make an extra buck on us with his initial price and secondly why would you charge customers for air conditioning !!?? Anyways we settled on sitting outside, by this time we are drenched in sweat, and I asked if they would bring waters out to the table. Again per management they no longer provide water for customers unless you buy a bottle of water. Strike number two for me… but wait it gets better, we put our order in and our food comes out and it was literally the poorest quality and lacking in flavor. Chinese food at our local malls are 10 times better than the food we ate. It was a shame because up to this point just about every meal we’ve had in Guyana was really good. Finally we were ready to leave and asked for the bill. They told us that they couldn’t separate our bill between each person. So they literally handed us the bill and had us figure out what each person owed along with tax. I haven’t even mentioned that the pictures didn’t even match the actual restaurant. Maybe 20 years ago this was the place to eat but it was run down, and they had signs up everywhere that said under renovations please be mindful. Seems like those signs had also been there 10 years as well. Overall this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had and for foreigners coming to Guyana and looking for a place to have a decent meal I would absolutely avoid this place at all costs.
