Restaurant bewertenOriginal decoration with its cork walls. a tapas menu that deserves a stop.Gros appetites abstain. beautiful atmosphere, quiet and a choice of extra wines.Bravo to the verronistic sommelier rivest.
Great place to drink a glass of wine or make a tasting of 3 wines. not to drink on an empty stomach, small dishes/cas very well made. superb decor in its sobriety ( cork with walls and ceilings, light wood furniture) smiling staff knows don business!
This was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Location is very nice just across the river from Ottawa in downtown Hull with a view across the road onto the canal. Very nicely decorated with cork all over and cool ambiance. Very popular location with continuous arrivals until it was packed. The food was amazing. It is a small plate tapas format from a restricted seasonal menu that changes every 3-4 months with a lot of local ingredients. And then the wine pairing took the meal from fantastic to extraordinary. They have an enormous exotic wine selection and I loved that you could order in 2 oz glasses so you could try a large variety of wines without ending up drunk. I had a Greek white that was amazing that I would never have chosen myself. In total my wife and I had 9 plates served in 3 flights of 3. With that we had 9 x 2oz glasses of wine to share. 3 different with each service and they really complimented the meal.I have eaten at 1 Michelin star restaurants in New York, France and Italy. This dining experience was perhaps 75-85% of those others but at 1/4 the cost. I told my wife that we will be coming back 4x per year now with each change of the menu.Absolutely wonderful on every measure.
I found the small plate meals excellent. The food was flavourful and nicely presented. The wine list is impressive. The service was polite, prompt and professional. The acoustics of the restaurant is loud, so the atmosphere is lively. If you're looking for a quiet dinner, then this venue may not be for you. I am glad that I had dinner with my friends at Soif.
A great place, with good food, superb wines and even better, the personel is knowledgeable and welcoming. You will find there some of the better reserves sugggested by a world renouned connaisseur. She masterfully transformed a great little bistro into an experience that will delight your pallet.
