Restaurant bewertenWe had the fried fish, fried shrimp, gumbo, Mac n cheese, okra, cornbread, and banana pudding. Each was amazing and had the best flavors. The gumbo flavor builds with each bite and was the best thing we had. They offer ketchup and tartar sauce but both are unnecessary. Ms. Ouida was so welcoming and made it a point to talk to each guest. We will definitely be back and tell others.
My friends and I decided to call in for lunch at Soul2Soul. All of the web references we found including Facebook said it was open. Called and only got voice mail numerous times. So, we decided to load up and go stand in line. Once we got to the address, found it was out of business and building seemed deserted at 1pm on a Thursday. I'm sure in it's day, the food was wonderful, but ignore websites that tell you it's open. For now, it's not. Save yourself the frustration and a trip.
Awesome food and great service. What a wonderful person she is. Found this place by accident and it is one that I miss since moving off the island.
Found this location on Yelp, it’s well off the beat and pass. Close to the terminals across the street from Galveston public works. I ordered the fried baby back ribs, potato salad and collard greens. The ribs was seasoned well fried nicely no greasy taste, the potato salad was delicious, the greens was a bit salty but seasoned well and cooked to a very tender taste. I’m glad I tried Soul 2 Soul Cafe, I had carry out even though you can eat inside, they closed at 4pm and their menu seems to shortened and the day go on. They had a menu board that listed what was available.
I found this restaurant on Trip Adviser because we had decided to visit Moody's Garden as a quick get away. Soul 2 Soul was and is a great find. We both had the fried catfish, he had the mac n cheese and I had the potato salad. and steam cabbage. The food was superb and reasonably priced. We also had the chance to meet the owner, she was very welcoming and nice. We will definitely make this a must stop on our next visit to Galveston.
