Darlene's Shrimp Shack - Galveston

This is a great place for incredibly fresh fried shrimp. I would give 5 stars for the shrimp and another 5 stars for the person who took our order. However, I would give only 2 stars for the gentleman who handed us our food. It's important to remember that a hand is a representation of the meal. Napkins should be distributed with a sense of pleasure. It may seem like a small thing, but a smile makes a big difference.

Be sure to visit Darlene's Shrimp Shack while you're on the island—you won't regret it! We were looking for a fried shrimp food truck and are so happy we chose to stop here. The shrimp was some of the best we've ever tasted. We tried both the steamed and Cajun varieties, and they were delicious! Our food was ready in under 10 minutes as well.

The the gentleman running the stand was very pleasant and the whole stand set up by the water was unbelievably beautiful. After spending a day on Jamaica Beach we turned around and went right back past to Darlene's shrimp shack and was totally worth it. Highly recommend the place.

I was reluctant but shrimp was big and oh so tasty. We tried cool ranch and it was so good! Fries were great and hush puppies are totally delicious!
