Marina Terrace - Funchal

This place has the best famous madeira grilled limpets. I tried to place it at other places in the old town, but nothing was as good as that. at others they put it too dry or too oily, but here it was just perfect. the coastal fish of the day (lidorado on my day) was really good, but did not fried too fat, but still crispy. service was good, especially carlos was very funny and attentive. the mood is very relaxed and quite with the sound of the floating boats on this marina.

Last visit 3 years ago first place this time. have mobility problems and could not be more helpful. we had a visit to fish cataplana, and on the last day we asked goat fish and choose papageienfisch for 2. very solid fish and locally caught. everyone who works brilliantly.

Excellent service and great seafood. Family dinner over looking the marina and a cruise ship. Nice facilities and a well presented restaurant. Gluten aware.

Sadly this restaurant is no longer open or any of them on The Marina in Funchal. We arrived today and went to book for 2nite to find the whole block demolished. The area is being rebuilt and modernised and I have been duly informed it is going to take 2yrs. Very sad but I hope the Marina Terrace comes back then. It looks like it will be amazing ad there are boards all around showing images of what it will be like

The food was some of the best we have had in Madeira (huge portions), the service was excellent and overall very good value for money.
