Mod Pizza Argonaut Way - Fremont

I really enjoyed this place, especially after going vegan. I'm truly saddened to see it close.

Many pizza places don't offer non-dairy cheese, but fast-casual spots like Blaze, MOD Pizza, and Pieology do. You get to customize your own pizza. I prefer to order in person because they have chickpeas available there, which aren't an option on the mobile app. For protein, I can choose between their salty vegan meat or the chickpeas, which turn out to have a creamy texture when baked.

I experienced a 20-minute wait for my well-done pizza, which was worth it. I also signed up for their rewards program, where I earn points with every purchase. I highly recommend this place! The staff here are friendly and genuinely try their best. The food is tasty, but I wish the location wasn't consistently understaffed. When I order online for pickup, the scheduled time is usually 15 minutes from when I place the order, but I recommend adding an extra 10 to 20 minutes. Since I work nearby, it's not a huge deal for me to adjust my timing. The employees are always apologetic about the wait, which is appreciated. If they could resolve the staffing issue, this would definitely be a five-star establishment in my book.
