Chez Alain - Fouesnant

Great pizza with a nice thin bottom. Quality and quantity of the toppings are great: "rich" pizzas You need to know where the restaurant is as it's behind the bar tabac. The interior is a bit dark and traditional. Not a bad thing, but when there's no view or green surroundings outside, it can be a bit depressing.

We did end up eating here twice as limited options in Beg Meil for a 2week holiday. Pizza was good, but nothing special. Spaghetti was poor but the puddings were great and service ok.

We have been holidaying in BegMeil for 17 years and frequenting this restaurant for as long- that in itself tells you something! Our latest meal was for my Mum's Birthday in August, we hadnt been for a few years as our son has needed outdoor space to let off steam between courses and Chez Alain despite having a lovely kiddies corner for books, toys etc has no outside space. However this year our son has reached the dizzy heights of 6 and can cope with a whole meal sat down- and boy are we glad as we got to enjoy another great meal here!!Alain's tagiatelle fruit de mer is to die for as is the cafe gourmand, I had the moules this time and they were lovely too.The pizza's are superb also- Alain's awards from Italy testify to this. Alain himself is very friendly and is ever present around the restaurant making sure your evening is all you want.All in all we would highly recommend this for an evening out.

A delightful find in Beg Meil. Assumed the place was a pizza takeaway but we were happy to discover a proper sit down Italian restaurant. Three of us ate here on two occasions over our seven night holiday in the area. The owner and staff were excellent and looked after us very well. My two companions had tagliatelle dishes including Osso bucco, which was a first and I had a Pizza tartare, all the dishes were delicious. We were advised on wine selection which was spot on and helped ourselves to some excellent desserts. Our second visit was equally successful. Well worth a visit.

As if we were in Italy! Great food, reasonable price, wonderful hosts and stunning tiramisu. This restaurant is a real treat.
