Restaurant bewertenWow, well lemme tell you a little sum about Skybox Taphouse: the food; electric, the servers; electric, the view; electric. Great place for me and my wife Mary to go chill after a great day at the beach.
I ordered the gnocchi which is one of my favorite dishes. At $24 it was very underwhelming in size and hidden in it were six cherry tomatoes to make the dish look fuller than it was. I don't eat a ton but was still hungry and picked off of my kids' and husband's plate. But because of that I can give a review of all the food ?. So. Husband had fish and chips. I wouldn't say it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Good amount of food and fries were good enough. Daughter and son had waygu burger. I wouldn't say that it was a high quality burger for advertising waygu. But it was. Decent size and it fed two hungry teens. Other son had pepperoni pizza. I would say for two people it would be not enough, but I chomped a piece and one other son had one piece so we didn't have any leftovers. It seemed like a frozen pizza warmed up.Husband asked for a beer that was listed but it wasn't available. Not a big deal but meh.Service was good and fast but we did go on a Monday in off season.I'd say it's a sports bar and it's middle of the road. The girls (servers) wear very short skirts and white tanks. We are more Modest people but it wasn't too off putting but it may be for too much for some..not quite hooters-like but they are trying to get a vibe going I guess.
Came to watch tennis. Called prior they told me sure come over when I did the place was only partially occupied. They told me to pick whatever tv I wanted. I was so happy. My server Todd was great so was the cesaer salad. I would come back for sure. The music was fun lively.
One more of the bars in Hawaii that charge an excessive price for food and think they give you the best service when they don 't. We had ordered two beers, normal, typical Hawaiian ones, and instead of serving them in glass glasses, like everyone else there, they put them in plastic glasses. Even so, we were clear, why are we going to return them... seeing the menu, we asked the waiter a question about what difference there was between one dish and another that we didn 't understand very well, and he answered that the difference was that one dish was potatoes. fries and the other nachos, so we decided to order the nachos... well, when the plate arrived it was fries with all the nachos. I thought it had been a mistake but I called the waiter to tell him that he had told me they were nachos and they had given me fries. The waiter did not apologize at all, and although he realized that he had made a mistake when explaining the difference and we had ordered something thinking it was something else, the only thing he told me was that they were not tortilla nachos, but rather French fries with nachos... still, we laughed at it, and decided to keep it even though it was not what we had ordered €18 by the way) plus taxes of course. Well, with all this, we realized that we did not have cutlery to eat the fries, which came with all kinds of sauce and meat like nachos) and we asked them to bring us forks, please. We are two people, and they only brought us one piece of cutlery, to which my partner got up normally, and asked the waiter to give him another fork please, the waiter was amazed and said another one? , and my partner said Yes, we are two people, since I didn 't have one at that time, after a while, he brought him the other fork... and the cold food of course). The time to pay arrived and we had not asked for the bill, but the waiter brought it to us and stayed there for us to pay, I might have ordered another drink or something, but it seems that he assumed not), when you pay, They tell you that it is normal for clients to leave between 15-20% of the bill in tips, depending on the service something that the tip is not mandatory, if not, a recommendation) and of course, it is never mandatory, it is something that each person leaves or does not want, and if it is mandatory, they must specify it and not recommend it. Well, because of all this bad service, I didn 't want to leave a tip, and instead of worrying about the reason, the waiter got upset and automatically, with very bad manners, said, No tip? And he turned to charge the next table. It 's pathetic that they treat customers like this when in reality we left $63, which I think is enough for this bar, I don 't have to spend $70 or $80, it 's my money and no one can force me to tip if I don 't want to.
We were a family of 4, enjoyed the happy hour, amazing burgers and our waiter was so friendly, helpful and entertaining!
