Restaurant bewertenIf you don't want to stand in line for one of the better food options at Citi Field (Shake Shack, Blue Smoke, etc), this is the next best thing. Is it good? No. Is it overpriced? Yes. But hey, it hits the spot for an alternative stadium food option. They have tacos, nachos, and a salad (what I got), and you can add protein. NO GUAC HERE, sad.
I have been to this Citi Field location a few times now and really enjoy their tacos. Nothing too exciting, as I always get the cilantro chicken tacos served with some tortilla chips. There is plenty of tender chunks of chicken in the soft tortilla shell. The lines move along well and I think the prices are fair. The plate with a beer was under $20 and considering what you can pay for food at a ball field, this is really a good deal. Like the other places at the ball ford, I think the people behind the counter are very friendly and make an experience (after standing on a line) a good one.
Woohoo! Loved this place last Thursday at the Met game. I have been trying to eat healthy (no carbs) as much as possible and I didn't think it would be possible at a sporting event, but El Verano Taqueria had a salad on their menu!!!! I had the salad with chicken and it was so good! I may have to get it again even if I am not purposely trying to eat healthy! I would definitely go back and maybe next time have a cocktail from them as well!
El Verano Taqueria at Citi Field is located behind center field at the Taste of the City food court. Tacos: $8 for two of either the Steak, Chicken or Carnitas Tacos. $10.50 lets you sample 1 of each I tried all but the chicken, and the tacos were totally delish. You can taste that they use good quality meat and let those flavors shine instead of drowning it with salt. The sauces they provide (different for each taco) are an excellent compliment to the tender, tasty meat. I do wish, however, that they heated up the tortillas a bit longer. In the mood to make your fellow fans jealous when you return to your seat? Bring back some Mexican (steamed not grilled) Corn slathered in mayo, cotija cheese a sprinkling of cayenne $4.50 Expensive? Yes. If you're sitting there with your mouth open, I hope it's because I'm making you hungry rather than shocked for the high prices. You're paying $4 for bottled water at Citi Field already, so why so surprised?! If you get the itch for some Mexican, the Taqueria is a good choice.
Pretty good. Was at Citi Field today and couldn't decide where to eat. I have tried the tacos here before and didn't love them but I gave it another try today and I'm glad I did. I got the vegetarian quesadilla and it was delish! It was packed with corn and mushrooms and other veggies and it came with a lime sour cream based dipping sauce. They had other options of fillings like pork, chicken and beef. You could get these fillings either in a taco or quesadilla. Other sides included corn and nachos which both looked good. They also had some good looking drinks like a skinny girl margarita or peach sangria.
