Restaurant bewertenI was planning a quick weekend trip about an hour away from Northern VA when the Blue Door Kitchen and Inn popped up in my search. I am so grateful! I booked the Washington Suite for a Saturday evening and a dinner reservation in the dining room. The experience was exceptional. Reem is the most accommating host I have ever encountered in my travels and hotel industry days. Check in was a breeze by keypad. The room was large, immaculate and beautifully luxurious. The bed, the linens, the couch ALL so comfortable. The bathroom was quite large and I want to purchase the mirror! Our room overlooked the gardens and patio and the lights in the evening were so pretty. The restaurant was modern, comfortable, casual but elegant and chic with oil paintings, rustic farmhouse doors, tin tiles and special accents. We met Reem and her staff and they could not have been kinder, taking the time to truly welcome us to their home. I was appreciative of the amount of time she and her staff took to help us decide what amazing entree we would eventually select. I went with a house favorite and had the ravioli and my husband chose a seasonal dish. We were treated like family...maybe even royalty. We had a delicious meal, spectacular wine, and dessert that made me want to clean my plate (I had the warm strudel with sour cream ice cream and my husband had the espresso chocolate mousse with frozen marscapone..honestly I would have eaten both they were so delicious! .. The next morning we drank our coffee in the gardens and enjoyed a leisurely morning. We drove into Washington, Va and Sperryville but we chose to have breakfast across the street at the quirky and delicious Skyward Cafe. It was an easy 45 minute drive to Flint Hill and I highly recommend an evening at the Blue Door Kitchen if you want to be treated like family, eat the most delicious home made pasta and meet a staff that are passionate about their menu and service. I recommend The Inn if you are interested in exploring the area and wineries. It was a wonderful experience and we will be back!
Here for dinner on the patio on beautiful summer evening. Excellent food, attentive service, and lovely surroundings. Beautiful old Inn in village of Flint Hill. Graciously welcomed by the owner, whose husband is the chef. Excellent asparagus soup, Halibut, and vanilla chocolate mousse. Will be back!
We went to this restaurant on Fathers Day, given the favorable reviews.. We are from Northern Virginia and drove for 1 hours 15 minutes to this restaurant. The outdoor patio had a very pleasant atmosphere. My son and husband ordered the steak and lamb which they enjoyed quite a bit. I ordered the pasta dish that had shrimp which left me in underwhelmed, to say the least. I mentioned this to the server, who said they were sorry, then handed us the bill. We were in and out of this restaurant in less than 1 hour. They did not offer a complimentary coffee or dessert. They charged us extra for bread. Each serving of bread had 3 slices. We ordered two servings of bread, which added up. My husband’s portion of lamb chops was small, two lamb chops. We felt this restaurant cur corners right and left. We will not return.
Fine dining; limited, but very well prepared and present led menu. Beautiful setting. Excellent service!
Great food, lovely outdoor patio, good cocktails, nice wine list and simple menu (mostly Italian food). Highly
