Kate's Kitchen - Flat Rock

Beautiful little business! Very small space with limited seating, but service is fast so you surely don't have to wait long until a table opens. They seem to be known for their cakes as they have such a variety of them and seem to be a top sale, and they are delicious!. I enjoyed a wonderful Omelette and her homemade cookies and Gravy. For dessert I had a lemon balm and taste of banana cream and blueberry cake, all wonderful and super delicious! If and around Downriver area / Flatrock safe, a visit for a delicious breakfast / lunch. Recommend!

Wonderful lunch. Never before and happened on Kate's kitchen just before 2:00. Asked if we got lunch and were greeted with a friendly yes. Ordered a Burger and Fritten who was absolutely fantastic! Best burgers in a long time! Thank you! And the bungalow was perfection! I don't care about overly fluffy empty Carbs Hamburg Brötchen. That was thin, perfectly grilled and still hot when it arrived at my table. I'd order the food all day. Thanks again for a great lunch! And going to the frozen cake will be a wonderful dessert if necessary. Thank you. Kate's Kitchen! Well, to dream about my next visit.

Kate's Kitchen is a charming little gem just off the main street. If you happen to overlook it, you'll be missing out on a genuine country-style experience where they still embrace the use of lard—and they take pride in it! Their breakfast is outstanding, and the biscuits and gravy are truly authentic. They're also famous for their cakes and other baked goods. While I didn't sample a cake, they all look absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place, but be prepared for a line out the door!

I moved to Michigan in 1994, and my parents discovered this hidden gem. The quality hasn't changed at all since then. Now, I bring my wife and kids here, and they love it just as much!

Amazing breakfast! The prices are fantastic and the portions are generous. The staff is very friendly, and everything is made from scratch.
