Restaurant bewertenMy family and I visited this restaurant on Friday night for dinner, and we were hopeful it would be a good experience. The place is quite small, so I wasn't sure what to expect. We started with fried mushrooms and fried pickles as appetizers, and I was already hooked! For our main course, we ordered the seafood basket, which included catfish, shrimp, and oysters—all cooked to perfection. We also tried the bullet burger, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. We were really impressed and will definitely be returning. The staff was very friendly and made sure we were satisfied with everything we ordered. Overall, it was an absolutely amazing place!
When our main dishes arrived, we were impressed by the plump, fresh shrimp that were fried to order. The bread was soft and made from fresh French loaves, and the OMG sauce? Incredible! It's easy to see why they named it that; it resembles an étouffée drizzled over the shrimp po'boy, which makes for a perfect combination. The tea comes with unlimited refills, and if you prefer soda, it's served in cans with a glass of ice. If you're like my husband and tend to get thirsty, you might want to order two cans right away. Our meal, including drinks, cost us around $35 before tip. The restaurant itself is quite small, with about 5-6 tables and 2 tall wooden tables that look like they were carved from a tree—I would love to have one for our home bar, so that's where we chose to sit. While there's no outdoor patio, the windows surround the place, providing a nice view. Although it's a bit off the beaten path, this spot is definitely worth the trip!
We have dined at Fish River Grill multiple times, and we've consistently enjoyed good food and satisfactory service. I’ve tried their oyster po' boy, shrimp po' boy, cheeseburger, and Swamp Soup, and all of them were cooked, prepared, and seasoned well. I highly recommend this place.
By far one of the best little restaurants I have ever eaten at. I am not a seafood lover at all but this place was great. The staff is very friendly and the food was top notch. Most seafood places don't know when to pull the food out of the fryer but Fish River Grill knows what they are doing. I had the Gator Bites Platter and my wife had the Catfish Strips and we could have eaten off of one plate. Plenty of food to go around. The Beignets were excellent! No wonder they say the only offer one dessert. Highly recommend!
Service bad. They serve white fish. In an area where you can get great local seafood they serve the equivalent of Mrs Paul's fish sticks. Try the restaurants in downtown Fairhope. So many good ones there to chose from.
