Au Vieux Mazot - Evolene

Eines Abends kamen wir zum Abendessen und beschlossen, an einem warmen Sommerabend draußen zu sitzen. Für alle, die die Luft zum Abkühlen fanden, standen Decken bereit. Dies ist ein hübsches altes Restaurant mit offenem Feuer/Grill im Freien und traditionellen Möbeln und Dekorationen. Wir bestellten das traditionelle Raclette und ein paar andere lokale Gerichte und wurden schnell und effizient bedient. Die weiteren Portionen dauerten etwas. Beim Raclette hatten wir etwas mehr Beilagen erwartet, aber der Käse war hervorragend. Die Polenta mit Kaninchen war sehr lecker und eine riesige Portion Fleisch sehr lecker. Obwohl der Service effizient war, empfanden wir ihn als etwas unpersönlich. Die große Überraschung war jedoch, dass auf Nachfrage nach der Rechnung der ursprüngliche Preis reduziert wurde, da wir weniger Raclette-Portionen gegessen hatten als ursprünglich vorgesehen, und das Restaurant den Preis entsprechend senkte. Wir empfanden dies als eine sehr großzügige und ehrliche Geste gegenüber ihren Kunden. Danke schön.

Der Ort ist schön, aber für das, was er ist, ziemlich teuer. Sie müssen kämpfen, um Ihr Raclette ohne Limit serviert zu bekommen.

The place is nice but it is rather expensive for what it is. over you need to fight to get served your raclette without limit.

I stopped here with a group of hikers for lunch- and was lucky enough to be seated on the sunny terrace with a magnificent view of the mountains and ancient tile roofs. Prominently located at the entry to the restaurant is a hearth with raclette...melting by the fire, so I was tempted and ordered the raclette. I got a nice basket with potatoes and a plate with some onions and cornichons. The shocking part was that I was served three very small scrapings of raclette and the cost of the dish was 24 SF. Pretty amazing price for a smear of cheese and some boiled potatoes! Although serving a large group can be challenging, this restaurant handled it the worst. Some of our group were finished with their meal while others were just beings served. It's a shame because I think the food was pretty good according to my friends, and the view was just lovely and quaint.

Lovely woodfire smell when you walk in busy staff so slightly dismissive the shocker was the 11. CHF bottle of water. expensive than Verbier.
