Restaurant bewertenThe drinks are absolutely out of this world. The smoke and oak is phenomenal. Haven't tried the food but hands down some of the best cocktails in town.
Going for a family birthday party (my Nan's 90th!!) I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from this place.
Wanted to try this place out for awhile, finally made itCocktails were great, I had a Cloverclub made with Plymouth gin.
Finally made it to North 53. We were in time for the last part of happy hour. What a happy hour! $5.00 wine, $3.00 craft beer and $5.00 fried chicken-3 pieces! We ordered one order with a salad, eating properly....then once we tried the chicken we became gluttonous and ordered another order with some oven roasted potatoes garnished with scallions and padano cheese. My heavens! We stuffed ourselves. Our tab was reasonable and our server was lovely. Parking can be tricky, it's a busy area. Can't wait to go back. I'd love to try the mushroom pate, unfortunately they were out of that today.
I really wanted to like this place... with the relaxed, trendy atmosphere and great staff but the food disappoints every time. My most recent visit was for brunch and besides the dismal selection the choices that were available were quite strange... Eggs Benedict with tapenade? I thought I'd give it a try and wow that was a mistake. Let me start with the entire dish was cold. The "English muffin" was very hard and dense and the olive was overpowering and extremely salty. Also considering the dish had no meat of any sort it was also quite expensive. Also I think any place that does brunch without bacon is just.... sad. I saw several other tables that had ordered the same dish and were scraping off the tapenade so clearly it wasn't just me who didn't enjoy it. I really hope they turn the food around here because the drinks and staff are awesome.
