Restaurant bewertenCozy, intimate restaurant with delicious authentic Indian cuisine and fresh, warm naan bread. We ate dinner here as a family on a quiet December evening. The chili fish and butter chicken were two of my favourite dishes from the buffet.
Just can say one word after my visit to this place: magnificent, from food variety to drinks, service, value, is so far the best experience in ethnic food, definitely invited to return
I am thinking of relocating my office back to whyte just to be close to the restaurant. Last date I brought there ended up taking pictures of her food so she was impressed as well. I use the restaurant often as a meeting place for clients at lunch. Service is quick and attentive. I have dined their regularly since they opened some 5 years ago. The buffet is excellent but the service makes this restaurant stand out for me.
I've been a regular customer since this Dawat opened a few years ago and have spent many happy meals there. I love their buffet - especially the fish pakora - and its variety. I've been there with meat eaters and with vegetarians and both have come away very satisfied. Take out is good too! I think they still have the giant picture of Bob Marley that was part of the previous restaurant's decor - to friends this is still the "Indian Restaurant With Bob."
I have been trying various indian restaurants in edmonton n finally at dawat on whyte ave, i happened to taste authentic indian flavours. food was great and service was awesome. staff was very friendly and offered very good food choices . what was different from other indian restaurants that they ask you how do you want the food to be..spicy..mild and if you tell them it should be indian they just throw in chillies and salt in it making it hot and destroying the flavors. here the food had all the flavors intact. we were neither sweating from the heat of the spices nor the food was bland or sweet. it was very close to authentic indian.in the menu. dawat khazana. the platter for appetizers is must have and then rogan josh in main course with garlic naan. but mind you if you r looking for dawat restaurant..go to the whyte ave one .the other branch in mayfield (west end) is ****..poor service .stale food..i went there also but it was a total disappointment..only one server running for all tables..without any sense of hospitality n on top of that the food was horrible there. so if you want to try indian food do try dawat at whyte avenue.
