Restaurant bewertenFrom the moment we walked through the door, our dining experience was incredible. The first descriptive is service. The maitre d’ and sommelier met us at the door, took our coats and escorted us to our reserved table (seating my wife). The level of service and attention to detail only increased as the night went on. Our waiter (Shane) was fantastic. Pleasant, extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and a great conversationalist. The evening started with complimentary soup (the butternut squash was smooth, rich in flavor with very nuanced seasoning). Our starters (Foie gras for me and lobster roll for my wife) were Works of art first, and perfectly cooked. Easily the best Foie gras I’ve had. Additional complimentary plates with wonderful treats came during the meal. I had the duck, with an apple, turnip and celery gratin. The duck was perfectly pink, and the sauce was amazing. My wife’s lobster and vegetables in butter sauce was delicious. The sauces were all well balanced, light and showcased the duck and lobster. The artisan breads that accompanied the meal were what I would expect to find at a Parisian bakery. My wife thoroughly enjoyed here chocolate lace cake for desert. Me, I couldn’t resist ordering the escargot starter to end my meal. Every course was beautiful, and delicious. I enjoyed that the portions were reasonable, not “super sized” like many restaurant. And the sommelier recommended perfect wine. The French press coffee was the perfect end for the meal. We will be back.
Doug and I had the privilege of dining at Fait Maison's third night in OKC. If you want something other than chicken fried steak or a monster t-bone, check out this exquisite new restaurant that is like no other in Oklahoma. Owned by my friend Susan Wedel and co-owner and chef Olivier Bouzerand (straight from France), the intimate atmosphere is gorgeous and the service is attentive, professional, knowledgeable and not the least snobby. Fait Maison means homemade in French, and everything here is, including the delicious variety of warm breads generously served throughout the meal. The starters and soups will satisfy the sophisticated palates, and well, us OKies. Be prepared for plenty of surprise tastings between courses and sit back and enjoy the experience. Entrees include seafood, lamb, duck and yes, a filet mignon if you must. Desserts will require confession because they are sinful. I gussied up a bit for the experience, but hey, it's OKC, so anything goes.
Found some unexpected excellence at Fait Maison in Edmond with food, service, cost, wine list and ambiance. Will definitely be back. Lots of good wines to choose from and a desert menu you could order one of everything and not be disappointed with any of it. Escargot app is very traditional French and absolutely delicious. The red wine bread is a must. Our table enjoyed Turbot, Salmon and Filets. All were prepared as requested and very good. Service was spot on. Definitely recommend eating here.
Our experience was exceptional. From the service to the food to the ambiance, everything is top notch! What a romantic setting and the food was wonderful. The highlight for us was the foie gras. The date and onion compote that went along with it and the wine reduction made it one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. What a way to finish off our 35th Anniversary. Thanks so much!
