Excellent small restaurant, fully licensed, any curry they want, even if they do not on the menu they make it for them, reliable service, very hot eating, always check to ensure that everything is in order, but if they ask them to let them do in rest they do. very friendly and very reasonable prices, much eat, book in advance to avoid disappointment, served up to 11,15 pm, I was twice and never disappointed when the meal is not right, take it away and change it for them without additional costs.
We have recently moved to the area and ordered a takeaway from here as a post-christmas treat. The telephone manner from the takeaway was very short and unfriendly but the food was ready very quickly. We had two different dishes a naan and a rice, the rice and naan were okay although not very hot, the main dishes were really pretty dreadful, swimming in grease, very bland and no spice detectable there was also a short black hair in one. Very disappointed as Indian is our go-to takeaway but we will definitely not be revisiting
I understand the restaurant has only recently reopened and is only doing take away at present. This doesn't however mean the food was not good, on the contrary it was excellent. Not overportioned and well flavoured. A credit to the new owners.
I went to The Agra at 5.30pm to order two takeaway meals for delivery at 8pm. I had to order in person because they only accept card payments at the counter. At 8.35pm, I called to ask about my order and was told the driver was on his way. The food arrived at 8.45pm, with the driver apologizing for getting lost, even though our house is less than a mile away. The food was barely warm, so I had to microwave it. Unfortunately, it was the worst Indian food I've ever had. The curry was bland, the onion bhajis were cold and tasteless, and the mango chutney was just a sweet goo. The mint sauce was watery and flavorless. I would not recommend The Agra for a satisfying Indian meal. I suggest getting a ready meal from the supermarket instead. You'll save money and actually enjoy your food.
