Restaurant bewertenTypically, when I stay at a Crowne Plaza, the restaurants are great, but this one is the exception. I have eaten here four times in the last two weeks and have decided it's time to find somewhere else. The service is incredibly slow, the food is average, and the atmosphere is lacking. Sorry, but IHG needs to send a mystery guest to this restaurant soon.
I go to this bar occasionally but anytime am there there is always something weird. So this is Tuesday 28 May and there are 2 bar tenders and not really busy. My picture shows that I had finished one glass of wine and both bar tenders could not remove the glass wine as well as the empty crisps pack. And they passed by more than 10 times. Otherwise both bar tenders are cheerful and efficient but lots of room to improve. It was only at about 7pm when a queue came up mostly for Starbucks coffee. Certainly a great place for coffee and very very decent place. At the end of the day I left before they removed the trash.
The mackerel for breakfast each day was delicious, as was the sea bream for supper. The service was great, very attentive polite.
Agree with other reviewers, I think part of the problem here is too many different menus (I also had 3) and generally there wasn't any sense of identity to the menu poorly thought out and put together. Definitely overpriced but I suppose that's somewhat to be expected in a hotel restaurant but the main issue was the quality. Starter was a pretty basic soup but unfortunately was very over salted. Like another reviewer, I went for the chilli chicken main and I'd echo many of the issues was bland, the chicken tasted almost like reformed chicken and I'm pretty sure it had been defrosted as the consistency was quite unpleasant. The dish was also almost half made up of yellow and red peppers in a sickly sweet and again highly over salted sauce. Disappointing food quality all around unfortunately. Service was reasonable not too intrusive and efficient. Not great that final service is 9.30pm. The guy serving at the bar was really nice though very friendly and helpful. In summary I wouldn't eat there again unfortunately and it'll probably impact whether I choose the hotel again as there aren't loads of other restaurants around in easy walking distance.
I believe there were three different menus to choose from at this restaurant, featuring a variety of international cuisines. Ultimately, I opted for the chilli chicken with egg fried rice. I found the dish to be lacking in flavor and the chicken to be somewhat lacking in texture. However, it did satisfy my hunger and my colleagues enjoyed their meals. The service was a bit erratic, but overall the prices were reasonable.
