Restaurant bewertenWarm and attentive service, excellent recommended for wein. one of the employees seems uncomfortable (coughing) and would have appreciated if he wore a mask.
Wonderful local restaurant that has been there for a long time when I was on earth, that is a long time and a good sign. warm welcome and honest Italian cuisine cooked with love. often really interesting special dishes from the Hampshire countryside. james and his family have a jewel of a restaurant. happy to have it in the neighbourhood.
I don't live in london anymore, but if I meet someone to eat, I always suggest here. eating is seasonal, fresh and really delicious. However, it is the wonderful hospitality team under the leadership of maitre d' james that really makes this place out. old school service, maintenance and real support for the diner. a real joy to visit again and again.
We are not used to visit Italian restaurants that we do at home) but il portico deserves its rest. the spaghetti all bygole, a must in il portico, were very tasty very high quality mushles) and not dry scarpetta is obligatory.) I am not a superfan of thin spaghetti, but I really enjoyed it. my wife gets garlic puwns, amazing, and my escape with aceto balsamica was wonderful. all drunk with a tasteful sauvignon bianco in a glass. Last but not least the service was friendly and very nice, just as it should be in an Italian family restaurant.
Our twice yearly visits to Kensington from Canada have suffered a pandemic pause but are now about to resume and Il Portico has jumped to the top of our must try list. All reliable reviews show the food, service and ambience to be worthy of a visit. Let the haters stew in their bile, we are looking forward to what we are convinced will be a delightful and satisfying evening meal.
