Uncle Julio's Durham

The cocktails are fantastic and the food is delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for a group gathering with colleagues or friends.

The food at this restaurant was average for a chain. The yellow queso tasted like Velveeta cheese, but the flour tortillas and salsa were both very tasty. I'm happy I gave it a try, but I won't be coming back.

I was looking forward to trying Uncle Julio's based on what I had heard, but unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. My wife ordered the chicken tortilla soup, which came out quickly but was lacking in chicken and was served in a small cup for $6, which we felt was not a good value. I opted for the chicken steak fajita combo, while my wife chose the chicken, steak, and shrimp combo fajitas. The dishes arrived warm, but we had to request tortillas and Mexican butter for both orders. We also had to wait for table settings after our food was served. Overall, the food was tasty but could have been hotter. The main issue seemed to be with the wait staff.

Wanted to substitute rice and beans for salad as I'm on keto. Would not allow substitutions.

I was not happy when they told us that we actually had to put that we wanted a booth in the Open Table request in order to reserve one. that information was not revealed when I made the reservation. The food was excellent. The noise level was very loud. Our waiter was very nice.
