We enjoyed a delicious lunch before catching the ferry. Bacon and egg Tart was yum. Fast, friendly service in Nice surroundings. Would definitely go back.
Had a very pleasant lunch at this place. Our group had a range of meals from toasties to pies and a quiche and salad. All excellent they have a good range of 'gourmet ' pies on offer. Coffee is good without being outstanding I would call the smoothies 'outstanding ', however. Service was first rate and our table was in a very pleasant outdoor area, with something of a garden setting.
Here you will find just the right amount of all the best things. There were three mouth-watering local seafood daily specials, moderately priced. Most people seemed to be having these – they’re irresistible, really – but there were also some nice-looking quiches and savoury pastries on hand, if the seafood is not for you. The dining area is pretty much all outdoors in the shade, suitably distanced and with a laid-back feel. It’s a café with cool class. All the staff were friendly and great. North Stradbroke Island is increasingly referred to by its Indigenous name, Minjerribah, and there was the bonus here of a selection of exquisite woodwork and crafts featuring local Indigenous designs, as well as a few good-quality souvenirs of a more standard variety. Eat-in dining in Australia currently (Feb. 2021) requires guests be traceable via QR codes, because of the risk of COVID transmission at eateries and pubs. The folks at the Island Fruit Barn had the great idea to make tasteful ceramic tiles of the QR code, so there is one conveniently on the table for you. A subtle indication of Queensland's community response to COVID, which has helped to save so many lives and keep fabulous eateries like this ticking over.
