Restaurant bewertenWe lived in the Tri-Valley region for 14 years and always wanted to come here. it was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night, but we had fun and sat there where in the room with live piano music. at the same time the staff felt bad because it was so quiet. we have used a deal that started with an appetizer (fritten artichokes) and a bottle of wine. we liked the artichokes. followed by a wedge salat (my favorite) and a plate with filet mignon, garnel, huh and cats, with a side of kartoffeln and rice dessert was a brownie with ice. the brownie was hard, so the server offered us to visit the brotpudding (coconut/rum.) the personal recommended to visit live music on Thursday evening. there is also a happy hour for the budget conscious.
Great service, great food and extremely generous portions!
Really unobtrusive. we started at the bar where the bartender told us he would make us blue cheese oliven for martinis, but conveniently forget when they were drinking. a few people ordered old fashions and that was a no-go because they ran out bitter inside. the change to a manhattan ended only a whiskey and koks as manhattan. in general the service was slow. the people were certainly nice, but speed wasn't something they cared for. dinner was moderate. the steaks were in order. I have rarely ordered the American waygu medium. it came more than medium and finally had no taste. others seemed to enjoy their steaks, but all said and done, it was not worth $100 per person and we will not go back.
Made a reservation, but didn’t need it. We turned out to be very late and called they said whenever you get here is fine. The ability to get in and the jazz musician were the only good things about our experience. Tried ordering the ‘prime’ filet to be told they were out. Ordered lobster, but the waitress came back and said they were out of that too and how about the crab? Fine, the crab it is! Dad ordered the prime ribeye chop for $72 medium rare and it came medium well. The server agreed and offered to redo it only to return with the same steak arguing that ‘the chef said when you cut it in the center it’s medium rare!’ Dad is sort of a beef aficionado and frankly you never tell the customer they are wrong...especially after you take their plate back to the kitchen! My guess is they were out of that too and it couldn’t be remade. The crab bordered on rancid. They kindly took that off the bill, but I worried all night that my son was going to get sick! There were fruit flies swarming around our drinks. I just can’t make this stuff up. No wonder it was so easy to get in. I am not one to write reviews, but when prompted by opentable I just can’t let this go...or others go to this restaurant. They tried to be accommodating, but you can’t fix poor and ailing quality. The bill was over $300 for 3 adults and 2 kids and most of the drinks were on a bar tab. Don’t do it!
Great food, outstanding service, and quiet dining. Very nice for a dinner with business associates.
