Restaurant bewertenPlan Ahead.. You need reservations, and you better plan early. They're only open a few days a week, and the seats go fast. This last February I called and asked for seats for Valentine's Day. When I finally had someone, they were kind of rude. You didn't want to be open because Valentine's Day was a Tuesday. The decor sucks. As many others have said, it is patient. The food is great. The steaks are perfected. Pages like the potatoes are just great. The server I had for the last time was an AWESOME person. The meal I've chosen came with something like a side I didn't care about. He apologized and offered me a double on the side I liked. We've been there 20 times between my parents, my wife and her parents.
Easy, THE BEST, Bar no!. I wasn't almost there enough and not in a while. It's a bit of a drive for me, but every time I dine on any other steakhouse, but it can be good food, at some point I always compare it with The Bears'. It's never fair. They always fail, often unhappy, compared. The bears are really good.
The best steak house in New York and probably everywhere else. The personal attention of the owner family makes it special!
I consider myself an authority on good steak and this place is the best in the region hands down. Large pieces usually make me think that the kitchen is trying to balance a lack somewhere else, but not with The Bears. A delmonico the size of a porterhouse and cooked to perfection; Prime rib, which looks like it had been cut from a brontosaur, but is so delicate, you can cut it with your fork, not too fat or comminuted in any way. Prices are exactly where they should be for food of this quality. Small footprints (the dinning room seats ~30) and extremely personal service with a highly knowledgeable waiter.
The chateau is out of this world. Hands down best meat I've had in the area. Atmosphere is kind of like the dumpy diner on the corner but I'm there for the food and it's wonderful.
