Restaurant bewertenRaining day we visited so didn't visit gardens . The butterfly houses initially appeared to have few butterflies but the longer we wandered sat and looked the more and more we seen looking carefully you may be fortunate enough to spot some of the stick insects too moving into the 2nd area you will find koi turtles parrots snakes spiders . Take your time and there's lots to see . The gardens are reasonable size plenty of seating along with cafe and free roaming peacocks . Easy enough to fill a morning
This place was not on any of our itinerary, but we discovered it on the long route from Belfast. It was a nice break from the car. It's a little expensive, but The challenging maze, butterfly garden, walled garden and tower were worth it. There's a small cafe with a perfectly simple ham and cheese toastie, some nice hot chocolate and a couple sweets. The wandering peacocks are also a nice bonus. Parking and toilets on site, as well as a small playground for the wee-uns
Visited with kids, we all enjoyed the beautiful butterflies which will stick to you if you stand still, free roaming peacock's we can purchase the features in June July time), the lovely garden and the maze, Kids liked maze as they saw it physically first time . We enjoyed the cafe which offered delicious options , there are lot of spaces where you can sit and enjoy a sunny day
Nice butterfly conservatory and gardens. Friendly staff and a lovely afternoon wandering round the gardens. Cafe is open at the weekends from Friday to Sunday. Be aware Google directions tries its best to direct you to a residential turn off instead of the correct entrance, which has large stone gates.
Worth a visit! There is a green house full of colourful butterflies that are happy to land on your hand (or head! Some other interesting creatures to look at too. Kids enjoyed it. Spend 1-2 hours here.
