Restaurant bewertenAppetizers: we liked the meatballs (could use one more slice of bread for four meat balls , the spinach artichoke dip and olive tapenade (in that order . Solid choices are the steak (NY Strip is decent (two of the three we got was under cooked for medium rare... while the other was just right... maybe use a thermometer? . Shrimp tacos are tasty but don 't expect jumbo shrimp... I 'd still order it. Salmon is not farmed and a solid choice as well. Apparently at lunch the chicken pot pie is the impressive bit maybe one in our group had an outlier of the batch (one was sour but expect it to be soupy . On another visit the lamb chops were really good. We had the duck breast and the pork chops. Both were the best entrées we had during our stay. Good food with great service. We were here as a group of nine. The place is part of the Foxhall Resort and has a clean, southern slightly upscale, with southern hospitality. If you 're staying at the resort you likely have a kitchenette at the minimum so you have options per se however this restaurants is a solid option if you don 't want to drive into town. We had all our lunch and dinner meals here, we didn 't mind, and we will be back. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Great service, limited menu hasn’t been updated in awhile. Still struggling to get back to normal business. They used to have a brunch menu. Hopefully it changes..
The staff and setting are both amazing. The food is also great. There is no doubt that this place will be impossible to get into in a few short months. I look forward to taking advantage of it while I can.
An entire night wasted!!!!We arrived shortly before our 7 PM reservation and we were immediately seated. We were seated near the outside pool. Our waitress brought water and began to take our order for drinks and appetizers. We had high hopes for the evening because not only was the venue breathtakingly beautiful, the ordering process was easy . However, that is where the niceties came to a screeching halt. We ordered our entrees at 7:05 and our drinks were filled as wewaited. Over an hour passed by and we still hadn?t received our food. Around 8:25, we noticed many entrees coming from the kitchen being delivered to tables seated well after us, and even so, we had never received any information regardingthe delay of our meal or updates on when it would be completed. We sat listening to a nearby table exclaiming how delicious the food taste and were even planning what they would get when they return for another visit. Finally, our waitresscame to check on us to see how we were enjoying our meal only to be shocked that we hadn?t received any food at all only to realize that our food had been delivered to the neighboring table that had been raving about the food. Our waitresswent to the table, retrieved the plates (that had been picked at and breathed over), and stood in front of us as she expected us to ?dig in? to the meal. Regardless of being in a pandemic, this move was disrespectful, unsanitary, anddownright rude. We immediately expressed our concerns, refused the plates, and asked that our meals be remade (as they should have been once the staff was made aware of the mishap). Our waitress discreetly took the plates and returned 10minutes later with what she claimed was a freshly made replacement. Unfortunately, that was far from the truth. The plates were cold and identical to the ones we had returned just moments earlier. We requested to speak with a manager whocould provide some insight as to why we were receiving such terrible service and find a way to
I wanted to give more than two stars but here we are. One star is for our kind server and the second is for good, fresh quality of food. Overall though, we had an extremely poor experience. We had a 7:00 reservation and our server let us know that they were out of one of the only 5 entrees they had. The entrees were ~fancy~ for the casual poolside vibes of the restaurant, and not necessarily crowd pleasers. We all decided we wanted ribs, but then learned they only had oneribs left, so the rest of us (party of 7 chose between oxtail, soft shell crab, and monkfish (look up a pic if you?ve never heard of it not appealing. We chose crab. Two of us chose nothing because those aren?t necessarily options fit tomost people. The quality of the food was good, but the crab was just too fancy and had too much of its insides to be able to enjoy it. Overall, the food was very expensive, with very limited options. They need to start small and then tryto go big. Add a burger, some salads, chicken, steak, pasta, salmon, etc just some crowd pleasing options to the menu. Keep one or two more daring options but not a whole menu of them. And keep enough of each item that people actuallyhave a choice. We ended up buying breakfast burritos from the place next door because the crab was a little ~difficult to stomach~. We are now eating those in our hotel room. Very, very disappointing after an expensive meal. We will not bereturning or recommending this place unless they make some major changes. To top it off, they add a deceptive 20% automatic gratuity, yet have a space for tip, and people could easily miss that. At least make it clear if you choose to dothat.
