Restaurant bewertenExcellent destination for vegan and vegetarian looking to eat traditional Korean food. It cost 15000W/person for unlimited self service buffet. There are around 15-20 different preparations to chose from.
Hang-wa-chae restaurant located in Insadong 10 gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul. The adddress has number 13 and it is down in the basement. The meal costs $30,000 for two and all you can eat. At Hangwachae, the foods are served in clay earthen dishes and everything is fresh and delicious. Each dish has its own unique flavor and taste. What you see is what you get, not imitation of meat like other restaurants. The starters were simple fantastic sesame porridge and tasty spicy vegetable soup and after that food is self-serve buffet style. The place is clean, cozy and pretty with flowers. Local artists paintings hanging throughout the wall. The food is honest, fresh and unpretentious with local ingredients. The sign is in Korean only so make sure to take a picture of the site.
Fully vegan eatery at Insadong Shopping Street, 5 to 10 min walk from Anguk Subway Station Exit 6. Buffet concept (not high-end buffet, 15,000 won pax) that begins with a small bowl of porridge and soup, after which you are free to take the rice and dishes of the day that you want. Korean temple food-inspired but contains alliums; dishes with and without alliums do not seem to be labelled, not sure if staff can advise. They focus on natural ingredients with minimal seasoning and without MSG or sugar. On the day I visited, the dishes available mostly consisted of leafy greens and seaweed. Also available were acorn jelly, tteokbokki, vegetable pancake, peanuts and black beans, as well as roasted baby potatoes.
Everything tasted delicious. Not too salty or spicy and very healthy vegan menu. The Korean green pepper was my favorite not spicy at all and very fresh. Planning to come again soon.
This place offers traditional korean buffet, their service was nice, apart from the buffet spinach pancakes are served in need basis, my kid also enjoyed those pancakes and sesame and rice porridge
