Restaurant bewertenThis restaurant is the only franchise option in the city and provides a quality product relative to its location. It features a wide selection of signature sandwiches and wraps. While the prices are on the higher side, it's definitely worth it if you're looking to experience the local flavor. This is the place to be!
I had a great experience at this new Subway location. The staff were friendly, and the food was just what you'd expect from a traditional Subway. The interior is clean and fresh, making it feel completely different from the usual spots I've visited in Dillingham. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices, which were even lower than I anticipated for a rural area. The "Sub of the Day" was an excellent value at just $9 per sub.
I would give this place zero stars. The sandwiches are overpriced and not good. The staff doesn't change their gloves between orders, so if you’re ordering a tuna sandwich, the person who just made a ham and bacon sandwich will use the same gloves for yours. To top it off, after I paid, the cashier pulled my receipt out of a trash can and handed it to me. #Strange experience.
One day, I decided to visit the Subway in Dillingham. That day, my baby and I, both Native people – I being a Native child adopted by a white woman – were the only Indigenous people there. The white customers were conversing among themselves about Natives and their dividends, making hurtful comments. They called us "stupid Natives," claimed that Alaska wasn't our home, and mocked several Natives who were in town just to drink. The sandwich makers, who were also white, joined in on the conversation, bragging and laughing at our expense. I was so upset that I almost threw the food and drink I had just purchased at the register. It hurt deeply, but I choose to forgive those people. I couldn't help but notice a white woman who seemed so pleased about her Native daughter's financial situation.
Excellent Subway! The staff were friendly, and the food was just what you'd expect from a traditional Subway. Since it's a new location, the interior is clean and has a fresh feel. It really feels like stepping into a place that's different from Dillingham. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the prices were lower than I anticipated for a rural village. The sub of the day was a fantastic deal at just $9!
