Restaurant bewertenWe were travelling from Stoke-on-Trent to Buckinghamshire so stopped here for the proverbial cup of tea. Gosh what a very pleasant surprise. Beautifully decorated, great variety of food on offer (we succumbed to lemon drizzle cake too) and a bijou shop within the café too full of more tempting goodies.
Great service, friendly staff, unpretentious food presented in good portions and good value for money
Had a chocolate cake for £1.80. It was so dry it was falling apart definitely not worth the money. It absorbed all the moister out of my throat. Even managed to find a few white hairs, considering in catering you would wear hair nets. Shocking for the price I may as well of gone to co-op and got a whole cake for £2. Also the chips are nearly always under cooked and hard. Please improve! Otherwise the other food is ok if you are willing to wait.
We stopped at the Country Kitchen for a delicious pot of tea, Americano coffee, fruit cake, and crisps, all for only £5.75. Others around us were enjoying their carvery meals, which looked great and received many compliments on the quality of the meat and vegetables. The small portion carvery meal is also available for £5. The restaurant has a large dining room with comfortable chairs and a light, airy atmosphere.
We received exactly what we were looking for at The Country Kitchen - excellent food in a cozy setting attached to a day care center. The seating was comfortable, the restaurant was clean, and they offered a variety of options from light snacks to full meals at reasonable prices. The food was freshly prepared and delicious, just as we hoped for. We would definitely return if we find ourselves in the area again.
