The Robin Mickleover Pub - Derby

Great place with a buzzing atmosphere! The large mixed grill was good and went down nicely with a pint of Guinness Friendly staff and will certainly be visiting again!

Still just a local. Not very good selection of real ale. I've been told the food is very good. Not tried it yet.

We have some friends that live in the mickleover area who had mentioned the curries at the robin to us a couple of times, Well a few of us 6 decided that we were going to do bit of a daytime pub crawl round the area and decided to finish off with some beers and a curry at the robin. I get teased by my friends as i review all food places so it was bit of a running joke. Tbh, i wasnt expected a great curry with it being a pub meal. How wrong was i!!!! Lets start with the pub as we had a few beers in the nice big lawned garden at the back as it was a hot sunny day rare hey!! Beers were a good price with plenty of options, and baby guiness on offer at 2 for a fiver... so we had a few rounds of them with our beers. We were served by a young lady, with a smile, she told us where our table for food would be and to sit down whenever we were ready to eat. Toilets, were nice and clean, air freshners could be smelt. Sitting down for our food i looked at the menu, plenty of options from a mixed grill to a saag, i went with the robin special, the mrs with a regular butter chicken. We shared a jeera rice ive never heard of that before a chips and a chilli and cheese naan bread, and a normal cheese one. The mrs said butter chicken was nice, and i kept dipping my naan in her sauce as it had a nice flavour, but my special was brilliant, had a nice kick to it, bit not enough of one that you couldnt taste the food can have hotter if required . The rice and chips were also good, plenty enough to share. We didnt have to wait to long for our food, and as i put the lady who served us was brilliant sun 2nd june she was explaining eaxh curry and spices to us, the jeera rice and options of chips. Overall i cant find anything bad to say, which will please my friends who often go here as they can continue to visit haha. Great food, in a friendly pub with a nice area outside that kids can play and run wild. Thank you for great service

Food is absolutely delicious since being taken over! really recommend the robin mixed grill and the garlic cheese naan staff are lovely especially the bar girl who was pregnant
