Restaurant bewertenI remember having basils when it 1st opened and it being good, but then I moved away. So when I was in town I decided to suggest it for a friend and I. Best decision! It's so good.We started with the Bruchetta which was unlike any I've ever had. It wasn't single pieces of toast it, but a dome-like pull apart situation stuffed with cheese and tomatoes- DELICIOUS! And we ended up being there during happy hours so it was discounted! For the entree I got the islander which was amazing 10/10. So flavourful, love the abundance of veggies even though I would have liked just a little bit more chicken.. But will order it again in a heartbeat. My friend got the Basil's pasta with shrimp. She rated it a 7/10 and I agreed. It needed more seasoning, it not as flavourful and the pesto seemed onenote.. Great service. Forgot who our waitress was but she was super nice and from California- the only one without green hair lolGreat selection of bourbon, so i look forward to returning for that. However, I had a house Sauvignon blanc, which was good and a $5 happy hour special. My friend had the Pear martini I believe and she ordered 2-said it was delicious.More like a 4.5 but unfortunately can't give those. Highly recommend and Looking forward to returning!
So I've heard people talk about their gluten free menu, they had maybe 4 options. I got a chicken salad. It was good. But they are obviously under staffed like everywhere, and they're putting unexpieranced people on the floor to serve.I wasn't the only person at our table with food allergies and my friend ordered something that had made ZERO mention of the cheese on the item. They then had to send it back and we had to wait EVEN longer for their food then.Seems like it's one of the many restaurants that need to come into reality and pay their employees a living wage so they have employees to serve and help their customers.
I rarely leave google reviews, let alone negative ones, but our experience at Basils was awful. I had made a reservation for my family and I before taking in a show at the Schuster. My reservation was confirmed. Upon showing up at our designated time, there were probably 25 other people in the lobby who had reservations at the same time. We waited 15 minutes and not a single hostess or server came to address anyone waiting. We waited another 10 minutes before we physically had to go up to a staff member who seemed confused we all had reservations. She said she would clear off tables and then never returned. After waiting about 45 minutes past our reservation time, my family and I had to scramble to find dinner elsewhere. While I understand many places are short on staff, I found it unacceptable that no staff member even came to talk to any of the guests who were waiting who had reservations. I reached out to Basils and was not give any response. Needless to say, I will not he dining with this company in the future.
I love Basil’s. If you have gone on a walk on the River Scape downtown you’ve possibly passed a restaurant with a clear beautiful view. That is Basil’s, and the food and beverage menu is equally as amazing. It’s a nice intimate spot with an impressive sized outdoor dining area. When the fountains go off sometimes you can feel the mist. I’ve had their amazing fries. They also have risotto tots that look as beautiful as they are delicious. I’ve had the lobster Mac n cheese multiple times. It’s a very rich dish. The lobster has a lovely Smokey flavor. I also love their glazed salmon salad. It’s a generous size, and the flavor profile is well balanced. I’ve also had their tacos which were so good, and I’ve had their ribs. Their ribs were fall off the bone tender alongside those delicious Parmesan truffle fries. There’s so many more gems on the menu I have to try.
My wife and I enjoyed a great meal of steaks and fish. The food was delicious and the service was even better. We asked to see the manager for a positive comment, Jon came to our table and sat down to thank us for our visit. He was so nice and appreciative.
