Restaurant bewertenProbably the best restaurant experience we've ever had. There's a lot of passion and care put in the menu and the service of this very special hidden restaurant.
The desert, campfire brownies, was merely good. That was the ONLY quibble of the evening. Ambiance? Impeccably glamorous, down to the textured walls, but still a bit cheeky and fun due to the speakeasy style entrance. Cocktails? Complex, interesting, and strong Bijou, SVD, Espresso Martini, and Irish Coffee were all on point. Service? Attentive without being overbearing, team service at it's best. Steaks? Both the Ribeye and NY strip were perfectly cooked and meltingly delicious, enhanced by the herbed butter served on top and the house demiglace. Bone marrow? Just perfect, the onion jam is the right counterpoint to its richness. Mac and Cheese? On point. Bread and butter? The butter... how do they make something as simple as seasoned whipped butter this magical... who cares, they just do, just eat it. It's not a cheap dinner but isn't at all overpriced for what it is. This place is a gem, you should make a reservation today.
We are in town for the weekend for my husbands birthday. He always wants a good steak. I did my research decided on Bogie’s Place. It did not disappoint. It has this wonderful speakeasy vibe, tucked in the back on another restaurant. The staff was very attentive, they even turned on the music we requested for us. I got the filet my husband got the ribeye. They were hands down the best steaks we have ever tried. We even had the chef come out to thank him. If ever in Boston, I highly recommend checking out.
I don't know where to begin. The place is expensive so you expect great food right? I ordered the salmon and it was dry and tasteless. The Mac and cheese was flat out bad, the fingerling potatoes very basic and the duck fat didn't add any flavor. The ribeye was under seasoned. The only good dish was the filet mignon. We paid 500 dollars for a very basic dinner. Pretty much any steakhouse you go to in Boston will be better than this place. We were celebrating a birthday and they didn't even acknowledge it. The waiter was very nice and that's the only good thing I have to say about this unfortunate experience.
Jeremy was amazing. Made the experience very enjoyable, impressive drinks, very comfortable and casual environment. Would definitely recommend.
