Restaurant bewertenAn improvement on our previous visit in December. Decided to play it safe and just enjoy an ice-cream each. Service was with a welcoming smile and efficient and we were soon enjoying our respective cookies cream and coffee ice-creams.
We had breakfast at this restaurant four mornings during our visit to Perth. We took the free bus from the city to get there. Sitting outside, we enjoyed the views of Perth in the early morning while having breakfast. I ordered poached eggs on sourdough and the coffee was excellent. The staff were friendly, talkative, and helpful. They even cautioned us about the crows that were hovering in the trees. It was a lovely place to start the day before taking a walk around the Botanic Gardens.
Our first stop on our tour was disappointing. While most of the group went to admire the botanical gardens and War Memorial, we went to the kiosk for a coffee. It was already crowded with people and the staff seemed to be short-handed and in no rush. After a wait, we finally got our takeaway coffees, which were hot and drinkable. If this is your first experience in Kings Park, it's not a great representation of all that the park has to offer.
The fish and chips were awful. They were clearly too busy to cope with producing quality food. There were a few small pieces of fish made to look large with copious amount of batter.
Although we are encouraged to slow down and not rush, the service at this restaurant is incredibly slow. With only one person making drinks, assisting at the till, and answering inquiries, customers are forced to wait in long lines just to place an order. Even after waiting 20 minutes to order, patrons must endure an additional 25-minute wait for their drinks. It would have been faster to walk back to Perth CBD than to wait for service at this establishment. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
