Monteverde At Oldstone

I never would've imagined having an outdoor wedding, but when we booked our wedding in Jan 2022 we exclusively were looking for an outdoor venue and Monteverde couldn't have been more perfect. Lisa went above and beyond in making our day so special. She was there for us every step of the way especially on our wedding day from helping with my bustle to coordinating with our vendors . We wish we could do it all again!

DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE FOR YOUR WEDDING! We had a terrible experience working with Maryellen Fabry. She was rude, disrespectful of our time, and not accommodating at all. When we tried to schedule a tour, Maryellen initially told us to come on a scheduled time on a Saturday. On the way to the venue (2 hours in she let us know she would not be there and that we would not be able to tour the venue anymore. No apology or explanation just an Alert. We stupidly continued with the process despite this disrespectful move. When we had a contract with her we tried to make some adjustments and talk to about some substitutions for alcohol and she was insistent that there would not be any substitutions (at least not without an up charge . We had talked to Navjot the owner of Chutney Masala (who by the way was extremely kind and accommodating as they do the Indian catering for Monteverde. They gave us a sample menu of what they do for Monteverde weddings. When we showed this to Maryellen she confusingly told us she would have to upcharge us if we included alcohol. She then said we would need to reduce the menu and showed us a new Indian menu that we never saw before (despite her knowing we wanted Indian catering and this being weeks into the process . All of this was very confusing but still we stupidly decided to move forward. Then she told us the date we wanted was no longer available as she had realized it. She did not respond to any of our requests for amending the contract or answer our questions, or accommodate us in any way, she simply moved on and wasted more of our time. Do not work with these people. There are better properties, better venues, staff at other venues who will treat you with respect and be much better at communicating and coordinating. Maryellen is disorganized, confused, and rude. I feel bad for whoever got the date we initially were in contract for and I am honestly glad to not have to deal with this person again.

I had an extremely disappointing experience dealing with Maryellen and her wedding planning services. I cannot emphasize enough how unprofessional and racist her conduct has been. From the very beginning, it was evident that she lacked the basic qualities one would expect in a service provider in the wedding industry. Maryellen was shockingly unaccommodating and unreliable. She was frequently unresponsive to emails and displayed a complete disregard for releasing important dates for wedding preparations. It was next to impossible to get in touch with her, which caused a great deal of unnecessary stress and anxiety during an already stressful time. To make matters worse, Maryellen failed to show up for scheduled tours and appointments, leaving us stranded and without answers to our questions. This unprofessional behavior is inexcusable, particularly when dealing with something as significant as planning a wedding. In addition to her irresponsibility, Maryellen did not offer any apologies or explanations for her actions. Based on my experience, I strongly advise anyone considering booking Maryellen's services for their wedding to think twice. It is evident that her business lacks the professionalism and customer service standards necessary for such a significant and meaningful event. A wedding is a special moment in one's life, and it should be filled with joy and positive experiences, not tainted by unprofessionalism and racial bias. I wholeheartedly recommend exploring other options to ensure a smoother and more pleasant wedding planning journey.

We were here for a large and intricate wedding and the grounds and decor (planned by the bride and groom 's families) were just gorgeous. The event was truly memorable but the actual mansion itself could use more restroom facilities (the tented area uses a glorified port a potty with 3 stalls for ladies only. All the food and bands were from vendors not this venue but for a gorgeous OUTDOOR location we got lucky with the weather this is a magnificent spot. Your mileage may vary.

Total dump of a place. Looked here for an event and was so disappointed. For the prices they charges I can 't believe how run down and unkempt the grounds were. The old historic house looked like a dated casino decorated with low end plastic ****. The views are quite pretty but the tents looked moldy and the grass not mowed. I don 't understand how anyone could want to have an event or wedding here. The women who showed us around could not answer basic questions about the space or offerings. She was quite rude as well and when pressed about some obvious issues on the property, such as the bathrooms not currently working, she said this wasn 't her problem. This place could be great based on the views, however whomever owns or runs it has let it fall horribly.
