Restaurant bewertenI recently visited a local pub that had received mixed reviews. My own experience offered some insights worth sharing. The pub has two separate bars, a unique feature that influenced my visit. My family and I were seated in what I will call the 'secondary bar', which had a sign directing patrons to order from the 'main bar'. While this setup seemed reasonable at first, it became inconvenient when we had to collect our drinks and snacks from the main bar despite being seated in the secondary one. The landlady, who was busy tending the bar, did not offer to bring our order to us, even though she knew where we were sitting. This resulted in multiple trips between the two bars, which took away from the ease and enjoyment of our visit. The landlady seemed more preoccupied with her dog than with the customers, which, while adding a cozy feel, lacked a necessary balance with customer interaction. The service was efficient but lacked the warmth and attentiveness expected in a welcoming pub environment. A little more personal touch in the service could greatly enhance the overall experience. While the pub has its charm, there are areas for improvement, particularly in terms of customer service and utilizing the dual-bar setup to improve convenience for customers. Overall, price range per person: £1–10, with ratings for food, service, and atmosphere at 1 out of 5.
This is a lovely pub with welcoming staff. The prices are reasonable and there is ample parking available. The average cost per person is £10–20. The food and service both received a rating of 4, while the atmosphere was rated at 3.
Do not order from this restaurant on Just Eat. We waited for 3 hours for cold food that we had to throw away. They also refused to answer the phone, so we couldn't even discuss the issue with them.
I spent a wonderful 6 hours at The Hare Hounds, playing board games with my partner for my birthday. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was amazing! The new hummingbird cake was divine, and they also offered delicious vegan options like the strawberry vegan ice cream. We ended up changing our dinner plans to stay and were not disappointed. The lamb with potatoes and homemade hamburger with caramelised onions were both perfect. The chef deserves compliments for the wonderful dishes. I highly recommend The Hare Hounds for a great dining experience. Thank you for a lovely day! Price range: £10-20 per person. Food: 5 stars. Service: 5 stars. Atmosphere: 5 stars. Parking: Plenty of free parking available.
The staff was friendly but the restaurant was empty when we arrived. We waited for an hour before our food finally arrived.
