Restaurant bewertenWe visited the k-lounge for coffee, hot chocolate and chat. beautiful atmosphere and we really enjoyed it, just relax at the river. our service was very good. jennifer was also very friendly and very nice to my daughters.
Shocking in every way staff are uninterested I have given it a few chances since it reopened after being taken over by new owner It's a awful pity because this side off the city needs a good restaurant It's absolutely shocking that the management (owners )have invested in the premises put together lovely decor and the staff are so bad down to the manager of the dining room and the male manager on front desk First visit was ok Second visit was a disaster unfriendly staff that were not interested in looking after the customer Third visit was on a spur of the moment as we were passing we said we would give it another chance When we arrived we we're giving a table, but from start to finish it was poor quality and tasteless ,even the house wine was sorryfull But to top it all was when I was paying and about to leave the manager (A foreign guy) asked me how my meal was ?which I replayed Not great Which he then replayed Thank you very much sir and turned on his heels All I could do was laugh still amused as I was leaving the hotel I stopped at the front desk still quite amused at the manager of The dining room I mentioned it at the front desk he was also unintrested in the customer Staff can destroy a business these guys are doing there best to tell the customer go anywhere else A Awful pity I hope you get it together because you certainly couldn't get it any worse
A lovely place to have afternoon tea staff very friendly and the afternoon tea was lovely a nice mixture of sandwiches scones and cake
Ok it was just 4.45 when a lovely reciptionest brought us up to the ares overlooking the Lee baths where we all went in the summer and the black and white photos gave us back memorys as a child i was so excited when the aisstant manger come up and asked us what would like so we said the afternoon Tea and coffes and tea looked good so we orderd that and the kids wanted the same meal and we said if the want the same afternoon tear if the kids wanted as us that was fine and the kids could have something from the Kids menu if it would be grand well the assisstent manager said to us and sorry we or not serving hot food from that time on as they the afternoon tea that people around us had got theres so we said could we order samwiches basic ones whenhe then came to us and said all they couldgive us was a scone and tea or coffee i give it a minus 5 if i could.so we said no after the way we where spoken to we madeup our minds we would not daughterd out Daughters Comunioun what it woult be 20 plus people for it.we had said that to one of the lovely reciptionists she was full of appoligys and asked if we wanted to speek to the mananager the was in charge of that area we said fine as we had stayed in 4/5 star hotels quite a lot as im one of the people i a wheelcheer and or son has Autism and that it was going to be extra special for Isabelle as one it took 6.5 years to anopt her but 6 months ago we nearly lost Isabelle it turned out she was a type 1 diabetic so we said wo would not be just a comunioun but it was such a relife that she wasnt going to die at any second .So the manager came out and brought us back up to where we where in a degrading manner. the manager talked to the assisstent for 2 minutes at the most and he left straight away and hi assistent mananger said we can only give you a scone and tea or coffee so we got up and left saying it was a disgrace and we decided to book the fota island hotel where we ether stay the night and my husband would always book me a spa treatment and the Hydrothrotherapy pool and id rated it bettween 4 and a 5 stars Mostly 5 stars but unfortunatily when i tried to book for that amount of people and explained what had happened Orla was so lovely she explained that its a hotel group that runs it and she would try to find out how things got so wrong at the Kingsley and even though i still couldnt book a hotel that was realy great like fota island and we would book in for that night and maby the next night because she would be a big supprise but the way Orla was so lovely having to to explain they where fully booked on that day i said To Orlya that it was fine because we knew that The Fota Island hotel and spa was so great id have no problem booking there again where as how badly we where spoken to in the Kinglsey that i would be putting it on tripivsor because as we have people with different abbillites i feel itse like paying it forwards maby it is the only time they have a break and have some time on there own i think of us and if it read on tripadviser that the Kingsley was a 5 star hotel written by a few people with different abbilites id be very upset a person who has different abbilites didnt say it ,The kingsley wood to retraine some of its managers and assisstant managers are the one that should be retrained while the staff on the receptoion area where fantastic i have to say even if they said to us its all sorted now i would say prove it i wouldnt not take the Kingsley words again at face value.
Called in to The Kingsley on spec for some light food on a recent Sunday afternoon. Excellent staff seated us and took our order without delay. While menu is not extensive we nonetheless ate delicious West Cork open crab sandwich with great dressing. Also has a very good toasted ham/cheddar/piperade ciabatta with side salad and chunky chips. Food was delivered quickly and we were asked more than once whether everything was to our liking. Lovely location watching the River Lee flow by. Well worth a visit.
